No, these are not PPC cards.
There is not much out yet, RIVA AMMX is under development and some other apps e.g. Netsurf have been compiled without FPU to work with the current Apollo core of the Vampire which doesn't yet have an active FPU. Further work on drivers, games, tools and applications...
It may be better to use another place to discuss expressions of interests/requests/payments not related to this thread which is about pre-orders on this site only which closed long ago. I'd suggest the new forum at http://forum.apollo-accelerators.com/ or the old forum on...
The original price from Majsta on this thread was €90 however a far larger FPGA was required to accomodate the full CPU core and additional features despite this Majsta honoured the price for those that had already paid. The price on the thread was increased to €120, since then the RAM on the...
MiST maybe but FPGA Arcade? That was announced in March 2008. I don't recall when pre-orders began but it was a very long time ago.
On Jim's site you can use the mailto to get on the waiting list and quotes a price of $299 reduced from $399
Laurent offers a system on back order for €499 reduced...
It's not an April Fools joke. Kipper2k usually supplies the vampire 2 with speed grade 8 FPGAs. The Turbo version will be supplied with speed grade 6 FPGAs, these cost a lot more though. I believe Majsta has used grade 6 so far. A turbo version of the core will be required to take advantage of...
Cable quality becomes very important for TMDS video signals especially at higher resolutions and frame rates that's why Kipper2K doesn't yet sell his ribbon cable based adapter for the Vampire 2 with any guarantees. Until the graphics core is finished and lots of testing has been done he can't...
The Processor of the Vampire V2 is a new 64Bit FPGA softcore design called Apollo. It is backwards compatible to the MC680X0 line. It is a work in progress and the full specification has not been fixed yet, it continues to improve with each release. The card has 128MB of RAM which is shared by...
No need to send it to Majsta, he can check the ROM is on Kipper2k's FTP server and is valid and then put a suitable ROM on your Vampire 2 for you. They only need the ROMs to cover them legally to include a modified ROM with the Vampire 2
I think the increase in the amount of ram is more to do with maximising the performance of the Apollo core. The extra ram chip will allow the memory to be configured to increase the maximum bandwidth available to the core if all goes to plan.
Motherboard received and working (displays boot logo anyway, yet to try any other interfaces)
Thanks for the great service Steve. Feedback left.
Cheers
Ian
