Do you need the cartridge to load these back on a real machine or is working similar how WAV-PRG can convert t64 and prg files to Fast Turbo tap? (prepending a turbo loader before the actual program in TAP) How fast is this actually? I think Tapuino could easily cope with the fastest loaders...

That's why i suggested a separate cuesheet file, since even file offsets listed seprately would help solving this. This way you don't have to calculate everything, just read the cue file if it presents and make it possible to jump to specific cue sheet entry when the file is loaded. The cuesheet...

Moving to a specific position could done the same way as cue files are being used with audio CD images, pointing to a specific sample offset (in our case Tap impulse).
