Apple Macintosh LC II - Hard Drive

Thanks for all the answers. Been very busy and haven't had time to reply yet. Right now, I am considering a COMPAQ or Seagate (Cheetah or Savvo). What I would like to know if these support narrow mode and does it matter if it is Ultra320? Also, about the adapter: I was thinking of getting one...

But all I did was open the hard drive case, not pull it apart.

Apple Macintosh LC II - Hard Drive

I just acquired an Apple Macintosh LC II which I tested the following day after I got it. It powers on fine, you hear the startup chime, and the display/audio is fine. However, I hear this loud whistling noise coming from inside the unit that varies in pitch, and found out that it's the Quantum...

Sorry, tbtorro, if I offended you. I got this habit of mispronuncing this company and this board (MDX instead of MBX). :)

Actually, it was made in 1993. It added a FPU, some fast RAM, and a RTC battery (which can be problematic for me). I am surprised that being an Amiga user back then, you haven't heard about it.

I think I already someone around my area, but I would like to ask a question. I have a Microbiotics MBX 1200z installed in my A1200 (the one with the RTC battery). Is this endangered as well?

    Australians who can repair microcomputers

So I am a member of the Retro Computers Facebook group and someone told me there that I need to replace the electrolytic capacitors (caps) in my A1200 or some leakage will occur and destroy the PCB in the long-term. I have noticed the warning signs already, including the internal floppy drive...

    Hey AmiBayers, what's happening?

Yeah, I guess I wasn't aggressive enough when I said to my parents that I wanted an Amiga, but I am happy that I got to use one at last. I am hoping to get an A1200 when I move out of my parents' next year.

    Hey AmiBayers, what's happening?

My name is KatakisAU and live in Melbourne, Australia. I brought an Amiga 500 this year that has Kickstart 1.2 and 1MB Ram built-in. This is the first time I got to use an Amiga, I am very happy with that. I only grew up with a Commodore 64 and got my first PC at the tender age of 12.
