    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

My GBA1000 in action, it's Grind by Dekadence & Accession https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMgE-K_GKT0 ! :D To answer some previous more or less unanswered questions here on this thread, and not just make everything about my own build, hehe; DutchinUSA: You REALLY wanna use 5V ram instead of...

Project of a mini tylacine PCBs batch for the GBA1000

'Some notes about this. I think I implemented the IDE-CF reader quite elegantly :) the "copper board" in the inside, on top of the CF-reader, is just something to guide the CF-card into the slot, it could've just as well been a piece of sturdy plastic. It's glued there on top of the reader. Also...

Project of a mini tylacine PCBs batch for the GBA1000

Hi! Seems I originally missed this thread (while finishing my GBA1000 rev.4! heh). If there are any leftover 68060 boards available, please count me in for one ;) if not, wanted to confirm this, and in that case I think I'll order a small batch of my own from a factory then; anyway I'd like to...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

Ok so what happened here... I tried all sorts of combinations of CF-card readers, CF:s, IDE-harddisks, SATA-harddisks via IDE-adapter, different roms, different filesystems, prepping CF:s/HDD:s on the hardware instead of WinUAE, small partitions, placing oktagon-scsi.drivers into the RDB etc...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

It finally works 100%! :D Solving the issue with the IDE was something I never could've imagined, but I nailed it finally after spending three weeks of my summer holiday banging my head with this :D furious modding with the A1000 case is going on now, but I will post a report about this later. I...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

Uuugh, damnation. I might have spoken too soon. Or did I? I'm not sure. My problem is this: If the 8MB RAM expansion is enabled, I can't boot from the IDE. Boot-up diagnostic screen and Sysinfo will still show that I have an OKTAGON 2008 board if I boot from ie a Workbench floppy, but the...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

WHOA! IT WORKS! :D after some four hours of measuring the 8M RAM expansion's connections to every bit on the board and trying to test if anything had changed, things were still bad. I tried to reprogram one of the Lattice GAL20V8-15 ICs (IC53) that controls the ram expansion, and my programmer...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

Having slept through the night and now reading this, it explains everything to me :) huge thanks for the fast replies Tuxbar and piacc! it's clear now that I have to focus on the RAM, either I have a bad chip or I managed to botch something while soldering 'em.

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

...reading back carefully from norby's post at page 15 of this thread, I realize I probably have a problem with defect RAM with the 8MB chunk, since when I open jumper S5 I get the red screen which states that board 5012 is defective. Gotta love it how he explained how he tested the lot with...

    GBA1000 rev4 Build Log

Well, it looks like I have a similar situation going on. Oddly Tuxbar81 solved his, by jumpering S7 in the end?? Well, over here that one's jumpered, and I guess all the jumpers are like they should anyhow. Anyway, regarding memory, some people are talking about a "GBA1KCONFIG" tool. Is this...
