I have an A500plus with a Spitfire500 in it and have done the config pass through ( wire to config out ) and it works fine with both the A570 and the A590 .
Iwould give more info , but currently have the A2000 on the bench and will be helping with the testing of the SpitFire2000 .
Have you had a look at PCB explorer ? If you highlight that address line it will show you where and how it runs . You can follow the trace to check for shorts .

You can change the PCB color in settings to make the route clearer .
They are the _BCASU and _BCASL for the trapdoor . On pin 1 end of the chip they are just tied high and on the other end they go to the trapdoor connector . Just like the A500+ .
It is an aftermarket brand , maybe you had one that was made for the ATARI etc.. I know a lot of joystick manufacturers popped up making them for all the different machines of the time ( the same stick , just wired differently for each machine ) .
If the stick is re-wired to the ATARI pin out...
ATARI , C64 and AMIGA as well as the SPECTRUM interfaces all use the same pinout for the joystick , that includes the 2600 .
Maybe you had an adapter , or cable that converted it to ATARI ?
It is not the cable , but the green drive on the CRT . If you have no experience with this kind of thing , then I would recommend getting it done by somebody who knows what they are doing ! Very dangerous voltages in a CRT !!
