I've just checked one out for you. Power Supply A500 P/NO. 312503-02 5V 2.5A 12V 1A -12V 0.1A Date stamped on the case 28 Dez. 1989, Made in W.Germany. It managed to boot up my A1200 which has internal floppy, 2.5" hard disk, Blizzard MkIV with FPU, SCSI kit and 2x32MB. So I think it's ok. :)...

No idea yet, some are surprisingly heavy.

I think you are right about it being a Mitsumi mechanism. The actual controller may be different though, does the CDTV have a Xilinx FPGA in it?

I think you're supposed to use silicone-based grease for sliding/moving bits of drive mechanisms (gears, slide rails in CD drives, etc.) - and not much of it. I have (once upon a time) restored the freedom of action in my A570CD just by re-smearing some of the original grease back along the...

I have a couple of A500 here... (UK machines). Last one I sold (bare unit only, no accessories) was £10 +postage, you can have the same deal or a more complete setup if you wish.

I believe the stuff you want is called hookup wire, it's available in many colours.
