I have one CF-IDE adapter with this problem. Tested in A1200 and A600 with same result. Replaced with new one adapter problem solved. Have you this problem with original leds ? Or try to disconnect the PCMCIA led, and see what happens, for sure.

I think its CF-IDE adapter problem.

My mod looks like this: I used 1x 10K resistor (left) and 1x 4.7K resitor (right). And BC327 transistor. That's all. Edit: middle led is PCMCIA, left and right is HDD.
