I can confirm this works. I didn't have anything between 10k and 33k so I went with the latter. The HDD light on my A600 is maybe a little bit dimmer than the power light, and certainly dimmer than when it was constantly at full blast, but TBH I prefer it this way. I opted to mod the adapter...
