I'd only recommend the older card if you want to keep your system authentic with hardware that was actually available in the 90s. Blizzard cards may have more nostalgic/collector value because they are no longer made.
There's a CD64 BIOS that supports hard drives/CF cards but only FAT16 so far. Maybe if med got more testers he would be motivated to update it. I have CD64+ but I still don't have a working N64, so I can't test it.
I don't know if anyone has a schematic but med knows a lot about the CD64.
Closest thing Sony has to XNA is PSMobile for PS Vita. It uses C# and so does XNA. You can't publish C# apps on PS3 PSN. The fact they renamed it from PS Suite to PS Mobile makes it seem like it will stay mobile only but maybe they'll rename it again for PS4.
