Amiga 500 4/8mb fastmem boards with IDE

The card that Kipper2K sells is what is required by the A500 usually to push the card above the Kickstart ROM next to it. However, the problem here (I'm the one who did this for gebes, by the way :) ) is that the A508IDE pushed right next to the Denise. The Indivision ECS has the Denise chip at...

Amiga 4000 eagle shuttle pci busboard

Really pleased you're doing such a good job with it. I know myself how awkward those slots were to desolder! I only wish I got a chance to use it myself - the seller (who sold it to me, that is) said it was working when he sent it to me but I really don't see how that can have been the case as...

    Catweasel Mk2 Zorro

Hi people, Does anybody want to sell a Catweasel Mk2 Zorro card? I need the built-in Buddha as well as the disk interface, so it has to be the Zorro edition! This is being bought on behalf of a customer of mine who has no internet access, and will not be sold at a profit or anything (I just...

    Vortex Goldengate (any CPU)

Hi everybody, I'm looking to replace my broken Goldengate boards.. does anyone have one they will part with? Any CPU, any RAM, any condition, broken is fine as I like a challenge (as long as the PCB isn't broken in two!). Please note that although I run a business which occasionally deals with...

A600 right mouse button not working

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but it might be useful. I've just repaired an Amiga 4000 for someone who had the same problem (RMB always pressed, so early start-up appears with just LMB, and Workbench not reading RMB at all). The fault was a capacitor, but not one of the usual suspects - it...

Info on 386 to 486 Upgrade cpus please

I'd be interested to see some benchmark scores for your system! Any chance you could run the Doom timedemo? I.e. download the Doom demo and run "doom -timedemo demo3", making sure you have no sound or anything. Would be interesting to compare to my SLC2/50 with a 13.5MHz ISA bus...

Info on 386 to 486 Upgrade cpus please

Did you replace the SCAMP chips too (the large square VLSI ones) or are they overclocked? They may need cooling at 33MHz if so. You replaced the crystal with a 66MHz one, yes?

Info on 386 to 486 Upgrade cpus please

I just desoldered the 386sx from the bridgeboard, desoldered the 486slc2 from the upgrade, and soldered the slc2 directly onto the bridgeboard. Because it's a 5V part and not one of the upgrades with a voltage regulator (which are 3.3V) it worked perfectly first time. Works a treat!

Info on 386 to 486 Upgrade cpus please

Apologies for dredging up an old(ish) thread but some useful info. One thing is that almost all 486SLC/2 chips or above are 3.3V parts, not 5V parts. That's relevant because.... ... I have now succeeded in my modification of one of my A2386SX bridgeboards. No longer is it stuck at a lowly...

    Goldengate 486SLC bridgeboard manual anyone?

I ran my GG486 under OS 3.9 without any troubles for ages - till the board broke, in fact. The 68060 is more of a problem I think.

    A4000 doesn't boot... usually.

Guess what? I'm typing this under OS 4 on my A4000. Cool, huh? Prometheus works, CS-PPC works, Voodoo III and RTL8029 work. All good. The cause of all my troubles? Alice had had her connections go a bit bad. Once I'd removed it and replaced it (after re-touching some of the solder pads), the...

    A4000 doesn't boot... usually.

Well here's something interesting. IORST line is a nice and stable voltage. But is 4.2V correct, because that's what it is...?

    A4000 doesn't boot... usually.

Thanks for the advice! I wanted to check the /IORST line today but I never got chance. Tomorrow, hopefully.... Incidentally, I'm not sure what the contact cleaner I use has in it to be honest, but it is designed to be used on computer connectors, and the plastic seems just fine so far. It would...

    A4000 doesn't boot... usually.

Sorry, forgot to mention - this is using an ATX PSU with the adaptor from AmigaKit. I'm using a PowerCool 450W Modular PSU here, and a Corsair CX430 at home. Both are almost new, and work fine. PSU was my first thought too... but the lines seem to be stable, particularly the 5V one. I replaced...
