SCSI external CDROM and A4000T

i have a A4000T, i want connect a SCSI EXTERNAL CDROM to it. I config the cdrom like a 1 unit and the scsi external port of A4000T config to 1. I execute the CD0 device with

activate=1
Device=scsi.device
unit=1

but, the cdrom does not work.

some idea?

Is the external CDROM terminated?

The scsi.device is the internal IDE port on your Amiga, the SCSI A4000T device is 2ndscsi.device.

As fitzsteve said. You have to put a terminator after the SCSI CD-ROM.

Did you mount CD0: ?

Or if you put the file CD0 in Devs/Dosdrivers it will mount automatically.

It is possible the CD drive could also be defective, have you confirmed this drive works on another system?

Also as before is it Terminated?

Yes, i mount cd0. the cdrom works well connected to A1200 with Squirrel SCSI interface.

Dear Landoq,

scsichain needs to be terminated at both ends, so that devices can communicate.
check http://www.wonkity.com/~wblock/SCSI/SCSIExamples.html , pictures at the bottom say it all.

I think the onboard SCSI on A4000T is a SCSI-II, right?

Try changing the ID to 5 or 6

Normally:

- SCSI Controller: ID7 (on some boards maybe 0)
- ID's 1 & 2 are good for HDD's
- ID's 5 & 6 are good for CD-ROM's

Don't forget to edit&change the file CDX: inside Devs/DosDrivers.... must be 2ndscsi.device.
