My cousin's :censored: PC has only got a 20GB HD in it running XP.
Now if this was a Miggy that would be plenty but it's miniscule for XP bloatware.
What I need to do is copy the contents of his C drive to a new HD and then use the new HD for his main drive.
Unfortunately he hasn't got the original software only one of those backup CDs!!! (Ghost)
The problem is it won't install onto the new HD :thumbsdown:
Any ideas?

Aquire a copy of norton ghost, install, clone drive, uninstall.
As far as I know 'Norton Ghost' ain't free :thumbsdown:
I'm a cheepie and he's even cheaper :oops:
I've tried WinImage and didn't get on at all with that.
If I can't find anything else to do it with I was going to fit both drives in my :censored: PC and copy one to the other!!

If you have any leaning towards Linux, dd is a very useful tool indeed for free cloning.

What kind of hard drive is he copying from or to? The reason I ask is because Western Digital you can get a tool from them for free that will copy over the partition and mbr and you can still boot to it and everything. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the tool though.
Find a copy of Norton Ghost 8 or Paragon's Partition Manager
Both have excellent drive cloning capabilities and can be used in a pure DOS enviroment if necessary.
