Amiga 1000 System (also accepting trades!)

I have an extra NTSC Amiga 1000 I'd like to either sell or trade. Machine is in decent shape for 25+ years - virtually no yellowing on the case and a little bit more on the keyboard (you can see in the pictures). It does have a few scratches and scuff marks, but nothing too grievous. I have the CPU and keyboard, no mouse unfortunately.

The system appears to work just fine (and I was told by it's previous owner that it works fine), but I can't seem to get Workbench booted. The "insert workbench" screen appears, but i can't get any farther. The only version of WB I have is 1.3 & it doesn't seem to like it. I don't know what version of kickstart it has (the startup screen doesn't say), but I'm assuming it's gotta be older than 1.3 If you want to mail me a WB disk to test it out further, I'm game.

The machine also has an expansion module plugged into the front. I assume it's for extra RAM, but can't be 100% certain.

I'm asking $100US + shipping, or willing to consider trades. I also collect vintage video game systems and am looking for the following (NTSC only please):

- Atari Lynx II system
- Atari Jaguar system (with CD would be cool)
- Turbo Duo
- Turbo Express

Also looking for the following Amiga goodies:

- Expansion for my A500 (need a HD, accelerator & RAM)
- Anything else of interest for A500, 1200 or 2000

I'm even open to trading for other vintage gear if it peaks my interest so feel free to send me your offers! Oh and I'm located in Canada, so shipping across the pond will likely be expensive.

The A1000 requires a ROM DISK prior to accept a Workbench or other game/application bootable disk. ROM versions can be from 1.1 to 3.1 (sic).

Hi, are you interested in the above if I understood correctly?
Both Mac's and the Tandy would be very hard to ship to Canada.

I am willing to consider any of those items in trade, along with the items I listed in my first message. I know shipping could be a hassle unless you're in Canada or the US, so I also accept cash :)

Well I do own a Tandy 1000HX with tandy rgb monitor (french keyboard and rom, floppy drive needs cleaning and as the 640kb mem fully upgraded) but shipping this would be realy killer and i noticed the A1000 is ntsc...

Probably best for any trades to be from North America only. The cost of shipping to anywhere else is likely to be more than the value of the items!

I fear you are probably right. I'd love to own an A1000, but shipping + NTSC + 110v PSU is likely to be a total deal-killer :(

has the US mail service completely stopped the surface mail service ? i used to use it years ago to import computers from the US....took about 6 weeks as i recall and wasn't very expensive at the time.
