Silly question, but this isnt the Hurricane that will fit an A1000 is it?

Unfortunatly not. When you want to use it in a A1000 the diskdrive has to go, and maybe you have to cut the middle plastic bar for mounting the upper part of the case...

Or build an adaptor ;)

Only very small accelerators fit in the 1k with no mods, and I don't know of any with FAST ram on it...

It took me about 4 hours to build, and it was mind numbing but simple.

would this work with a memory expansion in a sidecar, such as supraram 500rx or alphapower hd controller?

The Alfapower works, because i don´t have the SupraRAM i could not test it.

When you put more than 4MB on the Alfapower the RAM from the Hurricane becomes very slow(moves to a other memory area), but with 4MB on the Alfapower all is fine :).

remember that the RAM inherent on the CPU card will most likely be 32bit accessable - RAM on a side car or card will only be 16bit accessable -

The Hurrican 500 has its memory inside the 24bit addressing space but is 32bit accessable (unfortauntely its not DMA able)

Dont confuse this with 24bit and 32bit memory spaces as this is independent of how wide (number of bits) the memory is accessed

running a 32bit processor (like the 020 or 030) via a side-car will reduce its processing power as it has to fetch and store more often (as opposed to real work) - in 16 bits as opposed to its native 32 bits
