VGA Box

Hey

Only just bought this myself but my new projects I am doing I need something else.

This is a box so you can plug old consoles/DVD players etc right into a VGA connection. I will steal a few bits from the ebay listing that I bought it from:

■ VGA + 1 RCA Composite Video + S-video in, VGA out.

■ Convert the 1 RCA Composite Video + S-video + VGA to VGA signal.

■ Connect DVD, DVR, PC Host to the VGA Displayer like LCD monitor.

■ Convenient way to switch input signal--just press the "Input" button.

■ Adjustable input, brightness, contract, saturation and hue.

■ PAL/NTSC auto-detective.

■ Image-freezing function.

■ OSD (On-Screen-Display) function.

Also has picture in picture which is pretty cool. I must admit I never saw the image freeze option.

So just to clear it up you can attach s-video/vga and composite all to a VGA output.


Was using this to get my PS2 onto my LCD screen and it was great. Comes with the box and mains (needs a shaver adapter)

Can this little magic box transform amiga video to vga, or do i have to connect rf lead to it?

You can go composite out from the Amiga and to composite in on the box, then use VGA-out to a screen. So no idea how this would look

But I never used it with my Amiga like that. I had my scan magic going into the VGA box first. This worked fine

me thinks going composite-->vga would cause too much "readabillity" to be lost.

Alternatively, you could connect it to one of Amigamaniac's RGB to Svideo adapters for quite a good result.
