hello, I am looking into emulating amiga 4.1, preferably the last update. I have windows 7, vista, and ubuntu as my choices for host os's. it would be nice if the emulator software would be able to use multiple cores, as I have one 2 core and two 4 core computers.

i think you need a ppc cpu for os 4.1 mate but im not very updated on it
I'll put it this way: no f@cking way! There is no way you can emulate the latest Amiga OS's. The latest is 3.9 so make yourself comfortable with this one and if you want to taste the real thing you should buy real hardware that's compatible with OS 4.1 (Pegasos, A1, SAM.......)

@m91-30: Mate, you have started a bit offensive! What portarinos told you is true, really! And i saw no bad intentions in what he wrote.
The fact is, that 'till now nothing has managed to emulate an 4.x OS environment. No matter Intel or PPC, it takes far more than just a sibling processor. Thus, you can only reach 3.9 with whatever is available out there. You simply cannot run the latest OS's if you don't own either a SAM, Peg II, uA1, or a PPC-expanded Amiga.
That's the whole story. Please try to be nice...

I have already done quite a bit of research on amiga computers/os, and have determined just to toy around with the OS is just not worth the 1000USD+ for a decent amiga capable G4 PPC. if I was in the U.K., making pounds, or even euros, it would be more worth my time, but the US dollar is as useless as the DM is to the euro, right now.
If this is intended for me then what can i say man, you should check your sense of humor!. What a warm word from you!! You probably had a bad day but please try to leave it out of the this particular forum. Accept the fact that if you want to try OS 4.1 then you should spend some money on it. It just isn't practically possible to emulate it, live with it m8! :)Quote:
