Hi all.
My A4000 is almost ready for mediator :) . I bought MC060 from Stachu and upgraded my CS MKII to 060/80MHz . According to sysinfo it is running 113 times faster than A600 :thumbsup: but there is a small problem: it does not see 128MB any more, only 50 ??? :Doh: . One 32MB in first socket shows 16MB, two 32mb show 32MB in total, three 32MB show 50 and 4 show 50 too ... . It was 128Mb before upgrade. Please help ...

I'm not an expert. But 060/80Mhz..... I think you need more faster RAM modules... 50ns?
The older ones maybe don't work correctly at this CPU speed.

I do not know ... it would not work at all but it works fine only size of memory is strange ... I've fallowed instruction on BBoAH. There are two resistors to move. One close to crystal so maybe it is a clock divider res, second between mem slots - does anybody know what are they for ?
Did you fit a socket for the oscilator? Can you try a lower speed like 66mhz?
I think it is a problem with the speed vs. the Ram as merlinkv suggests.
To run at 80mhz you'll need decent 50ns Ram
I would have to solder socket to check it but I like 80's :) . I hope it is something different ...
No reason you can't run 80mhz and buy some better Simms, but to rule out this as the problem the easiest way is to test at a lower speed.Quote:

I have just lost 12 A600 :( .... just like that ...
Still 72mhz is pretty quick and maybe the card will live a little longer if it isn't pushed so hard.
You could try to get hold of some 50ns Memory and see if it helps, but as you say 80mhz could be beyond what the rest of the card can cope with.

I'm sure he would have advised you of any Ram issues for over-clocking the CPU as he's pretty clued up on this stuff.

It looks like it is memory problem. I have managed to select some simms and reach 64MB :) . I think I will have to live with it for a while. Thanks for input guys.
