Dear JuvUK,
the machine is online....so you can type "ping" command with adress of your router or any other machine on your network into cli and get a positive reply?
This checks a fully configured tcp-stack on Amiga.
Next step might be installing ftp server on pc and ftp client on Amiga....or the other way round if that suits you better.
Also creating a webserver on your pc and installing a decent webbrowser on the Amiga might be usefull.
The otherwayround requires software to acces unix-like resources from your pc, specificly tuned for accessing Amiga.
Sorry if this is kinda fuzzy, best i can do.
Grtz, PymerOne.
thanks for the help m8y, i think i'm going to try amiga explorer, i will report back:thumbsup:

on post #25 - everything is working??
What have you broken this time.
If you are networked okay, you will need Samba to communicate between the Amiga OS & the PeeCee OS.
Read here for the definitive answer to setting up the software: http://homepages.tesco.net/michael.carrillo/amigasamba/
Make a hard copy as it is hosted by Tesco's .

lol, no everything is working, i just work out how to get the miggy onto my network (it must be working at i can browse the internet and my router sees the miggy) i must be soooooo close
the miggy side is runng amiga explorer as it should it's the PC side thats the problem, i keep getting this message
"There has been a conflict accessing the Amiga Explorer resources"
I was editing m8y...see Samba notes above

IF you find Samba way too hard to configure, just put the Samba.handler on your L: drawer and live with it.
You'll access the pc, but not the other way: pc cannot see the Amiga HD.
Hey Justin - I went through this very recently on my A600 when I got the new wifi card.
Apparently - Amiga explorer will give you that error depending on the TCP stack you're using.
I've got my Amiga accessing my Server shares now with no problem. I'll boot it up tonight, tell you what I'm using exactly and maybe that will help you but essentially Samba is the way to go as has been said already (although I do like Amiga Explorer - it's very cool).
Cheers
John
Hiya Justin,
Ok here's how I'm doing it on my A600 with the Linksys Comcast Wifi Adapter. I can fully access my server share from my Amiga.
- I'm Using Easynet as the network layer app - using Prism2.device which matches my card
- This uses AMITcp (Which Amiga Explorer has issues with)
I don't think the above will help you as you seem to have it working but not seeing shares. Stuff that should be generic to whatever card / nic software you are using:
- Ensure you have your server registered in the hosts file
- Ensure "Loopback" is disabled (easynet has this ENABLED as default - argh!)
- Ensure you have a gateway address stipulates in your stack (probably your DSL router)
- Install Samba (I used SMBFS_1.74)
- Create a batch file with arguments that will mount your share from the network location with a username and password.
- I then created a project icon that would run this batch file from an icon (after getting some advice on here of course!).
Sorted
Hope this helps.
Cheers
John
Hi John :)
thanks for all the info, with a lot of fiddling, finally AExplorer is now working:thumbsup:
