WHDLoad woes

Hi all,
i'm a little confused here, i have a genuine registered WHDLoad with the correct roms in DEVS/kickstarts, but when i run most games a just get a black screen, Superfrog runs as it should, but breathless, epic, AB3D 1 and 2, pinball etc just give a black screen any ideas?

i have read somewhere that TCP/IP can cause this, but surely this doesn't run automatically?

And do you have current WHDLoad 17.0 Beta

just installed the beta, comes up on the splash screen it's registered and the beta version, but still no difference, still black screen :(

I don't think either Genesis or Miami have an option to put it in the startup sequence or WBStartup, so unless you've done this yourself - probably not. You could always try opening up something like AWeb which will complain if theres no TCP/IP stack running.

Any other hardware or patches which could be causing a problem? I had similar issues with some games and my Deneb, for instance - solved it just by setting whdload to shut down Poseidon on launch and start it up again on exit.

yep Aweb said a TCP must be started so it's not that.

hardware wise, an A4091, a Prometheus with a voodoo3 and a network card.

i'm really stumped here guys

Probably not the same thing, but I had 2 main problems with whdload.
First was that I was using PCMCIA networking, and there's a known bug with that.
But that was lockups, not black screen.

I did get black screens, but it was always when I was trying to run a PAL game.
As my Amiga is NTSC, I had to add PAL to the info to get it to work.

As you're in the UK, that seems unlikely tho...

A decent test to rule out software compatibility would be to boot without a startup-sequence and then run just what you need to (ACATUNE or ?) and try to run the games manually.

Could be related to the Voodoo3 - do you know if you have VoodooINT on? The whdload problems I've read about are related to interrupts, so this could potentially be it.. If you hit google for "whdload voodooint" you might find some answers :)

Just read above that you have a Voodoo3.
I know nothing about that config (RTG?), but I wonder if it's part of the problem.
