A3640@31Mhz (ish)

Hi all,
after the top man Hikey overhauled my A3640 (replaced the caps and repaired some vias) he socketed my crystal and updated my gals so i now have a 3.2 board, and so it became the time to play;)

1st off remove the nasty hot XC68040@25 and replace with a nice cool MC68040@33, put in a 66mhz crystal and....... nope it don't like it:(

ok so insert a 60mhz crystal and.......just under 31mhz (so an underclock if you will:lol:) i think the standard runs about 18mips and i'm now getting 22ish so roughly a 4mips increase.

been running benchmarking software for about an hour and been gaming for another hour, so far so good.......anyway here's the pr0n:p

very nice! enjoy your +4 MIPS, just don't spent 'em in one place :lol:

my A3640 will be coming up for sale soon if that's any use to you?

Thanks, but I need one for my 1240 accelerator. The XC68040 is getting to hot!
