Nine Amiga 4000 Systems

UPDATE: Okiez, photos of the first system are now uploaded. Anyone interested in this please voice this in the thread and I will go from the first to voice (starting from those who have already requested this type of system previously in the thread) interest down the list.

Okiez, this system is an 030 with 2mb chip and no fast ram installed. PSU checks out well, the floppy is working perfectly and is a 1.76mb (high density) unit. It still has the original NiCad battery onboard (arghhhh!!! :)), but the leakage was very minimal and has not appeared to have caused any damage.

System boots up perfectly and has been run for over 3 hours for testing. During that time some zorro cards have been tested (zorro slots working fine), sound tested (audio is good, no cracking etc, so caps must still be ok) and several floppy disks tested.

The system is in very good condition (looks almost new inside) and comes with its original 170Mb Seagate HD. :) Keyboard is in good working condition with only slight yellowing on a few keys. Case is in good condition witho only very slight yellowing except on the 5.25" bay cover which is quite yellowed, but as soon as you install a CD device that gets removed anyways.

$320.00 AUD + postage. Will give postage cost to anyone interested in the system.



I recently purchased a large quantity of Amiga goodies - the wife is still not talking to me. :)

Anywho, Amongst the lot were eleven A4000 desktop systems. I am keeping two, but the other 9 are available for purchase.

Im a little busy atm, but I will post images of them within the next few days.

These are available for purchase outside of Amibay (indeed, two may already be gone) so please dont be surprised if the number of available systems drops suddenly.

All a4000s are stock standard. There are several different revision Mbs. I am keeping the two CRs.

All systems will come with a working keyboard and internal floppy drive. No Hard drive (they are only the original 170mb ones so Im tossing them).

The available options are:

a4000/030 working - $320.00
a4000/040 working - $400.00
a4000/030 working and refurbished with new caps, lithium battery and pcb recoated - $440.00
a4000/040 working and refurbished with new caps, lithium battery and pcb recoated - $520.00

The cases are in good condition, a couple have very slight yellowing, but I will probably knock a few dollars off on these. If you want one without keyboard, I will again reduce the price.

I also have three Blizzard Mk IVs WITH the optional scsi module. These are priced at $240.00 with a brand new 64mb module. Without scsi module they are $180.00 with a brand new 64mb module. If there are any scsi modules left when the Mk IVs are gone I will be happy to sell them for $60.00 each.

I also have a GVP Jaws 030/40 A1200 cpu card available for $100.00, a DKB 1202 8mb/fpu/rtc (no fpu onboard - plcc socket) card for the a1200 for $30.00, some z2 ram cards, some amiga keyboards etc.

Oh, and I am sorry to say, but because of the unreliability of seamail, and the LONG duration until eventual delivery, I will not be offering seamail as an option to overseas buyers. For small packages this will not effect the postage price too much, but it would make an a4k cost almost $100.00 for delivery. :(

Sorry for the late reply - working ridiculous hours at the moment. Rest assured, I will reply to everyone as soon as possible.

Some clarifications:

Prices are in AUD... since I am in Australia.
All A4ks are KS 3.0. Upgrade to KS 3.1 can be done at an extra cost of $18.00. Custom KS 3.9 roms can be installed for the same cost if preferred.
One Blizzard Mk IV card has FPU, the other two do not. However, I MAY hay another FPU I can install (need to find it!).

The machines range from very white to slightly yellowed in areas, so they all look good and can look perfect quite easily if you are handy with Retrobrite.

Even the non-refurbished boards have had audio etc checked and are working fine, so the caps have not died yet. I DO recommend that you replace the caps eventually though.

Starfrog: Sorry, been ridiculously busy lately, will find your PM and reply to it by the end of the day. As I have previously said, Seamail is ridiculously slow (11 weeks in one case!) and is untrackible, so I will no longer be offerring it as a (cheap) option as it is simply not worth the trouble.

I have had it suggested to offer a4ks as a motherboard and daughter board to reduce freight costs. I am currently toying with the idea, so if anyone has a dead a4k they need a replacement MB and DB for then let me know and I will see what I can do.

Oh and I have a framestore digitizer available, some assorted z2 ram cards, an A2000 Rev 6.2 (will sell as parts to make postage cheaper) heaps of Amiga books and manuals, floppy drives, assorted keyboards etc.

Have some yellowed a2000 keyboards for $30.00 each (bargain!!!) these work perfectly and just need some Retrobrite love.

Have a working a600 (KS 2.04) in good nick (just need to find a floppy drive for it), case is very white, keyboard has slight yellowing. No PSU. $90.00?

If anyone wants an a4k with 3.9 roms, I will deal with them outside of Amibay so that Amibay will have NO responsibility in the matter.

So if anyone does want an a4k with 3.9 roms, please pm me and I will provide my personal email address and we will conduct the business there.

If you do decide to sell a motherboard/accelerator combo to someone I would be interested in the Case+PSU+all fittings, doesnt have to be the cleanest as long as it isnt broken, chipped or have scratches.

Simply put: you cannot offer 3.9 ROM to anyone without the companions 3.1 official ROM and the OS3.9 CD as a bundle.

Okiez, as rkauer has said, I can only offer the custom 3.9 rom option to anyone who already owns a legal copy of OS 3.9 and has an original set of 3.1 roms.

Anyone who does not have these items will have to settle for the 3.1 roms, or the original 3.0.

Not exactly: YOU CAN ONLY SELL THE 3.9 ROM WITH THE OS3.9 CD AND 3.1 ROM ON THE SAME BUNDLE.

The 3.9 CUSTOM ROM is not legal and the site may have a prosecution for just allowing those for sale!

Lol, okiez, lets try again. Any sale of an A4000 on Amibay can now only have the original 3.0 roms, or 3.1 roms as an option.

Hi guys, okiez, sorry for the delay - 14.5 hours running a shutdown crew today and I am stuffed.

To everyone else, I have the day off tomorrow!!! As such I will respond to everyone with postage prices and will post a heap of piccies so everyone can see the condition of the machines. I will also tag each machine and adjust the prices as to their exact condition. This way everyone can be sure they receive the machine they viewed and purchased.

Again, sorry for the delay, but now that I have a day off I can get everything organised for everyone.

Oh, and I have some a2k, a3k and a4k keyboards working fine but yellowed - some worse than others. These will be made available for cheaps. Say, $15 to $30 each depending on condition. They are all complete (no missing keys etc) and work perfectly, some are yellowed considerably though. Will post piccies tomorrow morning of these and everything else.

Oh, and I KNOW someone out there is going to want these....

I have two VGC Microvitec Microtouch CRT monitors available, not sure the price yet. For anyone not in the know, these are a multisync crt monitor for the Amiga that is also a touch screen! Thats right, you can tap away on the screen to double click icons, move windows, paint etc, even steer in games. They work perfectly and are rather natty - Ive never seen them before. They come with the GP Touch software and can be used on any Amiga with parallel and serial ports (A1000 needs a cheap gender changer).

I dont want to double post, but to make this easier, I will post every time I have another machine ready.

First is SYSTEM ONE! (original huh?).

It is an 030 with 2mb Chip, no fast. Original NiCad battery is present (will they never learn?) but the leakage is minimal and no damage appears to have been done. Psu is good, it has a working 1.76Mb Floppy disk (always a bonus) and has its original 170mb Seagate HD.

Internally it is almost new, externally it is very clean with only very slight yellowing except on the 5.25" cover plate which is quite yellow, but a throw away item as soon as you install a CD device.

Keyboard works perfectly and is only very slight yellowed on a couple of keys. Audio, HD, Floppy and zorro slots have been checked and are working fine.

$320.00 AUD + postage. Not sure who expressed interest in an unrefurbed 030 first... or at all, so if you have, please come forward.

tbtorro was the first to specify he wanted an 030/A4000 in working condition.

next up was lord_spider who didnt specify which kind of a4000 he wanted.

flip expressed interest in an a4000 motherboard, if you dont find a buyer for this machine I would be happy to purchase the case and all fittings and you could sell the mobo to flip.

The rest specified they wanted an 040 and/or refurbed.

If neither of these two guys step forward for this machine or flip no longer wants the mobo I will put my hand up for the whole machine. It is in much nicer condition than my current setup.

Next we have... SYSTEM TWO!!!

Is is an 040 with 2mb chip (of course) and 8 mb fast. It also has a 1.76mb floppy (they all seem to!!!) AND a Buster 11! I think I have used up all my allowable exclamation marks, so I shall move on...

It has its original IBM 171Mb HD and it even has its original NiCad battery still - bonus huh? :) The battery has leaked but very little and no physical damage is visible.

They keyboard works perfectly and has almost NO yellowing what so ever. The case likewise has VERY little yellowing. There was a 52x Cdrom in it originally which I removed, but I can provide this (free) or a 5.25" cover plate at the buyers request.

Price - $420.00 AUD + postage

If there is any left i would like a A4000 (030 or 040 don't matter since i have a 4060) refurbished as well please.

Guys, I think this will end up as an Australia only deal.... just calculated some postage costs and they are scary!

Package weight is 10-11kgs.

To UK sea mail (which I really do not want to use) - $115.90, express air mail is $261.45!!!

In comparison, to Perth (the other side of Australia) the cost is $43.50 regular mail.

So anyone in Australi wanting a machine work on $35.00 to $45.00 postage.

Okiez. At this stage there will be THREE refurbs available. SYSTEM THREE will be one. It is working perfectly, but a couple of the simm socket tabs are broken so.

Actually, I will make SYSTEM THREE available as either a refurb, or I will offer it at a discounted price and supply 5 new high quality simm sockets for anyone who wants to replace them themselves and save some cash. You could even get away without replacing them, just be careful inserting the ram simms.

SYSTEM THREE is an 030 with 2mb Chip, original Seagate HD, 1.76mb floppy drive (working fine), system only. The NiCad battery has at some point been removed (neatly) and so there is no battery damage or leakage residue.

System is cosmetically fair outside, and very good inside. Mb looks in very good condition with a single exception. One of the simm locking tabs on the chip ram simm socket is broken off, a common problem. However the remaining one holds the chip ram simm in fine if you are gentle. For peace of mind you could either replace the socket, or much easier, simply put a drop of 5 minute araldite on the edge of the simm/simm socket which would make it rock solid. The other simm sockets are fine.

This system is just the main unit, no keyboard, so it would be perfect for someone wanting to replace their knocked about a4k with one in better condition.

Case is slightly yellowed and needs a good clean up with metholated spirits. :)

Surely a bargain at $230.00 AUD + postage? Or, if you like, I can upgrade it to an 040 for a total of $300.00 AUD?

Next we have an A600. Main unit only, no psu. It is neat and tidy, case is nice and white with only slight yellowing to the keys (not very noticable - the photo highlights it more than it is). It has KS 2 roms and hard drive caddy, but no hd installed. Also, it has no floppy drive installed, though I can probably dig one at an extra cost.

Using a spare hd it boots to wb fine and keyboard etc all work fine. Anyone chasing a spare a600 should grab a bargain as it is only $50.00 AUD + postage.

Interested in this one, if no one else is in line before me. This would suit me fine as I have a system with a dead motherboard undergoing repair. Which I'll hopefully get back some time this year.

OK, I'll byte: in line for the first non-damaged mobo A4000. It does not need to have an accelerator/CPU card! I don't mind how badly yellowed the machine is, nor if it have no PSU, keyboard, fast RAM or floppy unit. Chip RAM SIMM is a must.

Cheaper is better. Lightest parcel is even better.
