Weird Picasso II problem

Can someone PLEASE help with this weird problem...

I have a Revision 1.0 Picasso II installed in an A3000 with no cpu card (just the original 030/25) and 16mb fast on the MB.

There are no other Zorro boards at all besides the Picasso II.

I am running KS 3.1 and OS 3.9.

I have installed P96 and it detected the PIcasso II and set up fine. I can use Picasso mode to edit etc a Screen mode, which displays fine... except it displays the first half of the screen, and then displays it again! So you get the top half of the test pattern, followed by another copy of the first half UNDER the first half. I hope thats clear.

I have tried different combinations of jumper settings and all they do is give me graphics corruption, or stop the card working (I assume this is the Z2 segmented mode as P96 does not support segmented mode).

Can someone please help?

would this be on a TFT by any chance?

Yes. a 22" BenQ Lcd monitor - but the monitor runs a Spectrum 28/24 and several other cards just fine.

Does your card worked once correctly? or this problem appear only now?
Check the memory on board...perhaps...

I only just purchased the card, so not sure how it used to work. But Im sure the vram is fine as when it is faulty you usually get screen corruption.

I would try on a different Monitor just to rule that out as the issue.

i found my Picasso II on a 22" samsung needed the frequency to be cock on or it would wrap the screen around on itself, then corrupt the icons then fall on it's arse.
in my case it was all in the timings

JuvUK - dont suppose you could fling a few settings my way could you?

The correct settings for your Monitor will be in the manual, it will probably have prefered Horizontal/Vertical sync for each of the screen modes.

I doubt they will be the same as Juvvy's.

In the case of my JVC screen its:

320x240 & 640x480 @ 31/60
800x600 @ 37/59

Also the PicassoII IIRC correctly can only reach 24bit in 800x600 but you're better off with 16bit for speed.
