ACA1230 and PCMCIA CF Adapter/CF Cards

Hey Ya'll :)

I got an ACA1230/28, its working great - nice and quick for a 28mhz 030 and great to be able to re-kick into 3.1 rom :bowdown:

But having some trouble with CF Cards in the PCMCIA, they're showing up as CF0:NDOS

Of course I have the correct Compact Flash/FAT95 Drivers installed and my CF Card is FAT formatted, it was working before so must be an ACA thing, anyone come accross this and know how to solve the problem?

Righteo - I must be missing something, there is nothing in the printed manual about PCMCIA.

There are a couple of ZorroII options in ACATune but they're really not explained very well, certainly does not say which option to use if you want to use PCMCIA expansions.

So, still lost :help:

Use the Zorro II options as a test, it may force the ACA1230 to respect the Amiga timings.

I still can't get PCMCIA working on my A1200 with ACA1230/28

My Motherboard Revision is 1D1, I don't know if anyone else has had PCMCIA problems with this revision?

I've tried with ACATune Enabled/Disabled and every option individually and several combinations, if the ACA is connected the PCMCIA does not work properly.

I have 3.0 Roms (Jumper in place) and use Maprom to kick 3.1, I've also tried with Maprom Disabled.

My CF Adapter shows up the CF card as CF0:NDOS and if I try to use my Netgear MA401 the System locks up as soon as the Prism2.device is accessed.

Of course I have all the correct drivers/libs/file systems installed.

I swapped out the ACA for my 4mb upgrade and everything is working fine so I know the PCMCIA port its self is functional.

Any help appreciated :help:

might the infamous "timing fix" help?
On my rev 2b mainboard expansion port just would not play nice with PCMCIA.
The DKB1202 did switchdown as it should to allow for PCMCIA to be correctly adressed, but somehow system failed in letting these two devices coexsist.
Having a different revision mainboard than you do, i dont exactly know if it would help (or even be nessecary).

Thanks, I didn't think about that since most people who had the timing issue were reporting graphic errors and random crashing but I guess its possible.

I'll check the board next time I have the case open, problem is I'll need to remove the mobo to do that.

Steve I used to have a PCMCIA Nic on an A1200 that would only work if you pulled it out and put it back in again when the Amiga was on.

Just in case it's a simple fix?

'Fraid its not as simple as that, I think its a revisional issue - maybe this Budgie thing Jens was talking about.

I actually have the Card Reset Patch's but no joy.

Except from the fact that I had to perform timing fix on my 1d.4 mobo for my ACA to work properly,no crashes I mean,I had no problem with the pcmcia devices.

Does your ACA crash?Because mine did,I couldn't get it work at all in the beginning(before I did the timing fix).Pcmcia devices are a different thing,I don't think that timing fix matters in them.And as far as I have read , only 1d.4 and 2b mobos require timing fix.
