Here we have a PSP-1000 (Japanese 1000 not UK 1003) console. It has english language menu so no probs there, only thing setting it apart from a UK models is that circle is the main select button on the system menus instead of X as it is this way on all Japanese Sony Playstation stuff. It has no trouble with UK games or imports and every thread I've checked through google says that UK UMD movies work fine on Jap PSPs too (though I can't confirm this first hand as I've never used a UMD movie). The only thing seperating it from a UK system is the Circle button being the button you press to choose an option as oppossed to X in the system menus. This doesnt affect the button configs in any games whatsoever.
The PSP itself is in great condition, unboxed and has a few minor cosmetic marks as you'd expect from a PSP this age but nothing that affects its usability, a few minor marks on the screen too but nothing you can see when the screen is on atall. Its faceplate was replaced but I neglected to put a screen protector on. Incase you'd like to do the same I will include a new, unused screen protector for you in the package for when you do, as I have a few spare. But this shouldnt really be necessary as its still in better shape than most used PSPs come.
It has one little lazy pixel which is barely visible save on a completely black screen with the brightness on full (see the zoomed second pic), and even then its only as annoying as a tiny spec of dust. On regular gaming its doesnt even appear to be there as the other pic shows.
UMD drive works just fine as does every other function.
This would make a great homebrew console or an awesome little machine for anyone thats after a PHAT PSP. Unfortunately it IS however software version 6.37 but I suspect it wont be too long before this is hackable.
It comes with its wall charger and its original 32MB memory card. I'll also chuck in an old game I have laying around which is unboxed and UMD case a bit scruffy but works fine - Untold Legends - Brootherhood of the Blade.
Been playing with it over the last couple of days and its working great.
