I have an amiga 1200 (commodore not escom) with the E-matrix 030 with 32mb of ram.
And the 3com 3cxE589Dt and when it comes to bring a big traffic to the drive (e.g when ftp downloading from lan) the amiga crashes.
(classicwb 3.9 bb1 +bb2 with ks 3.1).
Dunno, but I have had nothing but trouble with pcmcia networking on the A1200 - crashes at the drop of a hat. I would be strongly leaning towards the pcmcia network driver as being the culprit.
The amiga works fine with other services like irc.Quote:

Gayle overheating? Both buses (IDE & PCMCIA) are managed by the chip.

I assume you are using the most recent 3c589.device package from Aminet?
Or possibly some issue relating to 3.9?
What TCP/IP stack are you using?
Maybe try another and see if that solves the problem. Some cases where people report problems with Genesis they didn't have the same with MiamiDX.
