Hi there.
Just a curious question. I know that's impossible to connect an A1200 floppy drive into an A500 due to space probably, but apart from that, is the pinout exactly the same? Or it's different all the way?
Thanks.

@Phantom
Not A500 but I have A600 (the same interface/controller?) and also a couple of different FDD's internal&external. If you want I will test this evening & inform you :)
Best wishes
I seriously doubt about the pinout being different at all!
I have used A2000 and various drives on my A1200 with no problem at all. Also A1200 drive to A500 with again no issues
they are all the same amiga is amiga drive. even the hd work as far as I know. you might find a unit that has been configured as second flop and that needs to be jumpered different
fitting them I do not know nothing about.
Ok, thanks guyz. :thumbsup:

If you can test that, it would be nice mate. :)

they are all the same just diffrent sizes
The A1200 drives are slimmer than the A500 ones, so in theory it should be possible to make one fit. You might well need some risers installed to put the drive at the right height, and you'll need an A500 eject button to do the job properly, but I can't see any reason it shouldn't work.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Hi Andy, actually I want to know if it works; don't care 'bout fitting it inside an A500. :)
As we all said...
It just works! What else do you want? YouTube link for proof? :D
