My Minimig v1.1
i know i said i would not buy one but i did and ... i love it ! great fun!!
MiniMig V1.1
1 GB Sdcard
power pack
as sold to me by Thomas, thank you Sir :-)
well...
Its quick , silent , small and as yet i havent had any thing that wont run, im sure some things dont but all the stuff i play does and thats all that matters to me.
2 virtual ADF floppy drives
7 or 28 mhz 68000 cpu speed
pal or ntsc (NTSC needed on my 42 inch Sony TV for some reason)
2 MB ram - 4 would be nice?
no arm controller ...and yes id like one but no rush.
and a case to keep it in :-)
all in all very pleased.
PS. the CPU speed increase makes a huge difference to the bigger Amiga game, F1GP , Frontier, Robocop3 . anything with 3D type graphics as you would expect.
Cons...
well only 2MB ram (can be upgraded to 4) and it really needs the Arm controller to speed HDF access up and allow easy firmware updates & 4 floppy drives.
what it could of had...
Amiga floppy connector - why not sure really
Amiga A600 / 1200 / 500 keyboard connector - how cool would it be to fit this in an Amiga case! - to have modern hardware in a classic case...opportunity missed?
more ram or fast ram?
anyway gripes aside - its fantastic!

*****firmware update******
************************
i have gone from 2009 firmware to April 2011 firmware tonight via a null modem cable
and here are a few changes :-)
4 x virtual disk drives
OSC & ESC denise
standard (7mhz) & turbo CPU (turbo is now 52 mhz!!)
menu long file names on the adf menu (big difference!!)
HDF hard drive support
os 3.1 now loaded and running
who needs arm! - the hard drive is about the same boot up speed as my former A4000
** these are all PIC updates and i do not include the ARM enhancements - as i dont have an Arm controller
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk9eAovM8co
frontier at 52 mhz

Added shots of the case i made at work today and case badge from Mr Fitzsteve thank you kind sir
Also downloaded and tried the ZX Spectrum core for the minimig. not sure how to get a game on it tho...

I loved my Minimig when I had it :)
You can get the 4mb upgrade done at Amigakit (I did and it was great - although - only really needed for WHDLoad games).
As for the ARM controller - how about this one http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=13211
Have fun with it mate - I certainly did with mine and it was a big hit at R3Play last year :)

hi Jon,
thanks , i really like it i must be honest. i may have a crack at the 4mb myself at some point as for the Arm controller i dont really want all the other bits but its worth a messages :-)
cheers

first job is to upgrade the firmware to the latest edition for the pic

I really think is future hardware, since I noticed that the A600 and a1200 need new caps to keep up. It might be more interesting for a new user to get a minimig then some old and half working amiga.
Since you get vga and ps2 connectors out of the box.
A lot of them have some issue s hardly noticed by previous owner.
-
i agree the future has to be new hardware not making old hardware run quicker.
having said that i would LOVE and Amiga 1000 but purely as a collectors item and as funds allow - as always.
roll on the Natami / x1000 /x500 if they ever happen.

Awesome stuff mate
They are indeed cute little fella's, any plans to mount it in some kind of case?
Steve.
-
yes sure is steve, i'll either buy one or make one.
they really are effortless amiga computing.
excellent.

Firmware updated to latest 2011 PIC & FPGA core.
i'll do a youtube vid of some 3D games so we can all see the difference

and now i need an Amiga sticker for the DIY case lol :-)
