Warpd3D problems

I am having some problems with my Cybervision 64/3D and Warpd3D

I have installed WarpUP and everything and i tried out some demos and even Quake and DOOM. They both run great. But now i wanted to try GLQuake and that did not work to well for me.

So itried to reinstall Warp3D with different "driver" combinations and tried to get the demos that follow in the lha file to work but no luck so far.
Not even the 68k demos work they make my por 3000 do a resett.

Here is a picture of the only error msg i get from when i try to run a demo or quake.

The first picture is when i try to run gears_ppc and the second image is when i run the gears_pps window and window smal, dont know if they are supose to be that green :)
Well, the fps are 4-5 so it aint super fast =)

Any tips on what i can do to fix this?

I doubt you can run GLQUAKE on the cv64/3d.
It is basically a Virge3D card , it's openGL implementation is ultra-basic at best...

But still, should i not be able to see the demo im trying to start?

Sorry to say but the CV64/3D does not have enough VRAM or powerful enough chipset to run these games.

Try Decent, there is a port on Aminet - this should work.

For GLQuake (or BlitzQuake) you will need a Mediator PCI and Voodoo 3 at least.

The glitcy Gears are the same on my CV64/3D.

What PPC do you have? BVision/CVision would also run Warp3D games properly.

I have a CS 604e 233mhz / 060 /50mhz
I have never seen any one selling a Cvision, how much do they usualy go for? Or is it just better to by a mediator board and a voodoo 3-5 card?

CVison is pretty rare - I'm not sure of price as I've not seen them for sale - however we're not allowed to discuss valuations on Amibay anyway.

So I guess your other option is a Mediator board if you want to use Warp3D apps and games.

Its a lot of expense to go to though just for a few games that you can play on a PC so have a think if thats where you want to take the project, its also pretty tricky to setup the Mediator on the A4000, I struggled with mine and ende up sticking with Mediator on my A1200/PPC setup instead.

MerlinKV will be the best person to advise on setting up this hardware on the A4000 as he has these working fully.

Also, you would be able to get the most out of OS4.1 if you decide you want to try that with a Mediator however you would be better off with a Radeon graphics card for that setup. This is where things get tricky becuase Radeon although it supports Warp3D under OS4.1 it does not under OS3.9 :Doh:

Anyway - have a good think about where you want to take the project.

Then i think i will keep it as it is.
Just dont know what to upgrade next? Maby a usb card or somthing like that but i dont know what to use that for :P

A3000T
CS PPC 604E 233mhz 060/50
Cybervision 64/3D
Ariadne II
19gb scsi disk.

Any tip on what to buy, so i can have a goal with it :P i mostly play casics and i dont rly want to go OS4.1

As a sidenote I would like to give you an "advice" based on my experience as a former G-Rex4000 user...
Don't really bother with 3D ports on the amiga , whatever setup you have ... see them as something to run in order to satisfy your curiosity :) and leave them alone. They just don't run good enough, whatever classic hardware you have.
Even on my former setup those games really sucked LOL , on the other hand on a pc they are way better ...

It certainly sounds like a Mediator would not be cost effetive upgrade for you since you already have network and RTG.

And given you only play the Classics its an awesome system as is :thumbsup:

Deneb would be a good upgrade, I'm looking for one myself - well keeping and eye open...

You can use USB mass storage, keyboards, mice, gamepads (not with WHDLoad though) USB Network Cards, USB Sound Cards and the Deneb has onboard flash memory so you can use your own Custom Kickstart built to your machines spec. :cool:

My A4000 (in Elbox Tower) is running an Apollo 4060 and CV64/3D and I use it pretty much like you for classic games and also the 3D games that take advantage of the 060 - really want to get a Deneb in there too.

I love the RTG Screen and using IGame with the RTG full colour screenshot pack and then the auto switching into native modes with the CV's Scan doubler - I'll never tire of that and its something you'll loose wth a Mediator setup unless you use some kind of auto switcher or switch box.

Anyway - I've rambled on enuugh now!
