Look for the little bent over tabs. Straighten them up and assuming there are no screws it should pull upwards and free of the lower sheild.
IIRC the 500 and 500+ have four screws holding it in place. Not sure about the 1200.
Dave G
righto, if u see me in the wanted thread looking for a new 1200 then u know why

Is this rf shield even needed btw? it was a nightmare to get off i dont fancy putting it back on :D
It's not necessary. My A600 and A1200s run without the shields. I've had no issues running them like that for the past decade or so.
RF shields were added to meet some obscure and now-outdated legislation. Feel free to chuck the thing in the bin, the Amiga will run quite happily without it.
I think i need a special tool to get the mouse connector out, stupid hexagonal screw type things :( ah well
Oh, you want to remove the motherboard from the bottom shield? Yes, in that case, you're going to need to remove all the hex nuts from the ports at the back. Once they're removed, the board just slots out of the RF shielding.
Ideally, you need the right size nut-spinner to remove those, I have one and it makes the job nice and easy, but you can usually still manage with a decent pair of pliers. It should be well within the realms of capability!
well i just want to take the last section of mouse1 pcb off and connect something else but as you say i need a tool to remove the nuts, and i dont seem to be able to find pliers prob would have needed long nose ones anyway. Could u point me to a tool that i could buy to do this?
The tool I have is this one from Radio Spares:
