hello all :-)
me - yet again.
Im going to be making a steel case at work to cover my A500 shortly at work but id like to copy (ish) the sizes of the one that used to be about years ago to sit the monitor on - remember? but...
did they block off the zorro port ? in i need access for a A570 and access to the other ports too.
not a problem - i just wondered how they did it back then.
And..
what the hell was it called? and how big was it (if anyone has one)

No, it did not block off any ports. The left and right hand sides were profiled and styled in the shape of the A500 and those edges rested actually on the case itself. Then there was a shelf for things like floppy drives etc then another shelf for the monitor or TV to sit on.

im not keen on that idea to be honest, i'll make a different set up to that

on second thoughts - thats a good idea, ive just looked closely at a 500 shape :-)
thats all i needed to know really, thank you , im looking forward to going to work for once lol
Some designs had a plate as wide as the A500 that extended out and sat under the miggy for more stability

in the UK , the one that blankstare has put on , is in fact the one remember. i dont remember them being as complex as the one you have :-)

That'll do ... It's basically just a box with the front and rear panels removed - maybe a couple of holes in the right side for joystick and mouse extension cables
not sure how i'll sneak that in my bag :-)
