A500+ Baseboard 1MB Chip RAM

Sadly I couldn't find much about this hardware in the known websites but when I bought that the guy that sold me told me it was kinda rare.

Basically It's an 1MB Chip RAM expansion for the Amiga 500 plus in order to get fully 2MB of Chip RAM.
It's fully populated and it's very clean.
Testing it under my A500 I noticed that I didn't have any increase in memory. Dunno if it's due to the logic or if the board is not operational.
That's why it's sold AS-IS.

Edit: I checked all the RAM IC's in my A590 and they seem to work just fine (showing the correct memory on Workbench) so I guess they don't have an issue

The price for this expansion is 15 euro including simple (inside bubblewrapped envelope) shipping for all european countries.

Try removing 4 of the chips. Like

I doubt the A500 expects anything larger than 512 KB by default in the trapdoor. So if you get an extra 512 KB with one of the above schemes, you know it's the logic and not the card.

If you look at the picture it actualy says on the right or left, whos gone and swaped me wellies again :D

I think you need a connection to the Gary Chip... without that it seems useless.

It'll need the Gary clip to do anything useful with FastRAM, but the ChipRAM should work with the trapdoor only.

On a generic A500, I'd expect an A500+ 1MB ChipRAM board to show up as Ranger (slow-fast) RAM, maybe only showing 512k of it, but I'd have thought you'd get something out of one. Of course, I may be completely wrong. rkauer knows a fair old bit about this kind of stuff, hopefully he may wade in with some advice or info on the subject.

There's no ranger mem in the A500+, only if an expansion with more than 1Mb is used and a pair of wires connected to Gary.

Yes, but what happens if you plug an A500+ 1MB ChipRAM expansion into a plain vanilla A500 (not Plus) model?
