Voda Mobi Phone Info needed

humm might have spellt voda wong oh well no change in my spelling then

right I`m hope some of you smart well connected guys and gals out there can give me some useful info about voda mobil phones and changing contracts

Basicaly my best girl friend has a contract phone with 12 months left to run but her plan only includes 300mins and free TXT`s a month, so if she ever wants to use the internet on her mobile she gets charged extra, gerrrrrr talk about geting the wrong contract thinggy and for this the has to pay £20 a month. spose we all got to learn some how and I know practicably 0 about mobile phones.

Now what I need to do for her is get a data allowance, it be nice if we could reduce the cost but thats not as important as haveing some free internet time.

Ive been given a number to ring 191, but thought it be good to ask here first see if anyone has some good info or things to say/do

You will have to ask customer services for a contract upgrade though be aware they will screw you big time for it. I asked about doubleing my mins and they offerd it at the cost of doing the same to my bill. I get 300 mins and unlimited* (NOTE THE ASTERISK!!! Anything that has that means it's a lie and turns out I have 2 or 3k texts. Way to go Vodaphone... :blased:) for £30 (that went up too along with added VAT which was in VERY small print on the contract I was rather rushed to sign) do the maths and you can see how much of a joke it is.

yep we went phones for you to ask about it, so took time ask about other contracts but stupig girl did`t know ought, one of the worse sales persons I have come across, I eve had 2 point mistakes out in there own lituera but thats a diffrent story

Like who needs 3000 or 5000 txts a month !!!! I`m going do the maths on that later see if its posable to use em all in a month

Trust me, it is. I've done it before hence why I made an irrelevant point about it being not unlimited. I got my contract from Phones4u too and not only was it a shambles even though as soon as you give them a hint that your looking to buy a phone, they rush and must sit you down to talk about how much you have to burn. I won't go into my story here, but yeah they are less then helpful when it comes to stuff like this, all that matters is shifting phones and getting your money, otherwise it does'nt concern them.

well to be honest that was what I was hopeing for but the sales girl just did`t seem to want to talk 2 me hehehehehheheh, I get that LOL

well My friends phone is a sony Ericsson Elm - J10i2, nat a bad bit a kit as far as I can tell but haveing to pay extra just to use the internet apps is a **** take

Perfectly common sort of attitude i'd personally expect from them. You might get a bit more info talking to someone at a Vodaphone branch but I find they often point to the 191 number aswell.

Mind you i'd never recommend anyone take out a smartphone contract that does'nt include internet.

I don't have a smartphone but my current samsung chat has wifi built in and as i'm an o2 customer i can use the BTOpenZone hotpoints around the country to access the web free.

I currently pay £35 a month for 1200 minutes and 10,000 texts.

When i was looking for my plan though i went directly to all the networks own stores and none of them seemed very helpful so i went to the carphone warehouse and found a knowledgeable chap who was able to negotiate my contract and get me a free ps3 slim.

I believe though changing the plan constitutes cancelling the old contract and starting a new so your friend will probably be penalised by either having to pay the rest of the existing contract or an early termination fee.

You may want to ask about boltons as these are usually addons for a small extra fee each month.

Just my 2 cents and might be completely way off though lol

It's been my experience they're quite happy to allow you to move up tariffs or add bolt-ons.. but they don't allow you to drop down tariffs mid contract.

I've just done the very same thing!

I've been a customer with voda for a few years and get 300mins and unlited txt but I ended up paying about £20 a month extra for data..

I phoned customer services last week (2 weeks maybe) and asked if they could change my plan to include data - even if it means reducing the call allowance.. Let me see they said .... And then " well sir I can offer you 512mb data a month on vodafone network and 512mb on by hot spots free of charge in your monthly allowance"

So I'm a happy bunny , my iPhone logs all the data use and In 2 weeks I've not used 50mb ... And I surf on here most of the day , eBay and google too...

So phone and ask them :-)
