Nintendo DS lite scrap/spares.

Here i have a broken nintendo ds. was passed it to fix, but in the meantime my nephew got a new one.

what you get is the broken ds, hinge broke and ribbon cable snapped. Case is a bit mashed.

It turns on and straight off again before it was taken to bits.

you also get a replacement casing i got from ebay.
and a new screen, also from ebay. - required soldering to install this.

anyway somebody skilled can probs assemble a working ds from this.

you will need a small triwing screwdriver to put this back together.

looking for £20 + postage, paypal gift is preferred.

Just to clarify though, does it have a power supply or not? Did it turn on and straight off again running off the battery or when plugged in?

I used to tinker with these as a hobby and discovered thru error more than trial that it powering on and off again was a main board connection(in my case the data cable between the top screen and lower board). Can you check the cable connection on the main board please?

There is no power supply.
With the cable that connects the top screen broken. The ds would power on and then off again straight away, either plugged in or on battery.
The charge light lit up, but as it turned off straight away i dont know if it was charging ok.

The DS was fine, then my nephew broke the hinge, and instead of passing me it there and then, he continued to use it, until the ribbon cable snapped.

The ribbon is part of the screen that is included. Hence me buying new screen, the old screen is probs ok, but a ribbon would need sourcing and soldering to it.

the socket that the ribbon connects to looks ok to me.

some googling suggests that there is a fuse that can blow on the motherboard that also causes this problem.
