VideoToaster 4000 questions

Hello,

I'm currently of acquiring such a card for my A4000, just to feel that experience too. So my questions are the below:

1) I know that VideoToaster 4000 works only under NTSC mode, so it means that I have to switch the jumper to NTSC in my A4000 right?

2) Switching my A4000 under NTSC mode, will I have problems with PAL programs or games, or that depends on the monitor? Actually it's a new LCD monitor (probably as far as I know, they can produce both PAL and NTSC signals?).

3) What's the main application for that card? Or there are many to choose from?

4) What I can connect via this card? Just a VHS camera, or a newer camera will do the job too? What other options I have?

If there's a user here with "big" experience using VideoToaster 4000, then I would really appreciate sharing his experience here.

Will it accept a PAL video source input? And will it do that without a TBC?

Yes, that's true.

Look at it this way: I think -almost sure- the Toaster will only accept an NTSC input. This means that your camera or vcr would have to be NTSC in the first place. And in the camera case, i doubt there's a multisystem one around.. Thus , just having it installed on an A4000 won't really do much. Plus the fact that most probably you would need a TBC card to help sync the source to the Toaster. Not the most ideal situation there, is it?

You're talking about old VCR cameras right? How about the newer ones? Is there any possibility to connect them too?

I don't think that would make any difference, unless those digital ones have a menu where you can select the color output (PAL-NTSC)... :unsure:

I thought that it's like the new TVs. They can produce both PAL or NTSC now without any problems, I pressume.

It would help if you mention your exact camera model! Maybe we can find the specs then...
