Mediator PCI 4000D help!

Hey guys,
I just picked up a Power Tower mk ii for my A4000D. While installing the mobo and wiring everything up, it came time to plug the power into the mediator card...well, the P9 connector on the mediator card is completely broken off. And it's nowhere to be found - the guy must have broken it before he packed it. And it was in the picture when he sold it to me. I know accidents happen, so I'm not too mad, but right now the entire thing is useless to me.

I need help! Can anyone help fix this? Or sell me one, or point me to someone who can? Or should I just ask this guy for a refund? Shipping it all back to him is going to hit me with a TON of shipping fees...

Yeah, contacted the seller. So far no word back. I can try and snap some pics later, don't currently have a camera. But right where the power connector is soldered on...it is just broken off! The board seems fine otherwise.

If there is a better place you could have gone to sort this problem out I've not seen it!! Hope u get it fixed

If its broke clean off and not taken any tracks with it I'm sure it can fixed either with another power socket or cables soldered direct to the board.

Here is a closeup of where the P9 is supposed to be soldered on. Doesn't seem like there is any residual damage...

As you say it looks like its broken clean off, strange because as you say on the eBay listing it is in place (yeah I found it)

And I can understand why you don't want to return it that was one hell of a bargain, broken connector or not!

I'd see if you can get a partial refund off the seller to cover the repairs, for someone with soldering skills it shouldn't be too big of a job.

Yep, exactly right :) Well, I pieced it all together just to see how it fits. Everything seems good so far, other than that connector.

Here's my setup right now, I'm sure the power connector is absolutely necessary :)

I have a 3640, 2mb chip, 16mb fast, as far as I can tell most of my chips are the latest and greatest versions. I have 3.1 roms, and the battery has been removed. There is no replacement...I don't trust myself soldering one on there! The battery damage is negligeable. I can't really tell anything aside from a tiny bit of discoloration near where the battery was.

On the Mediator:
CV64/3D with Scandoubler in the top.
FastATA mk V in one of the Zorro slots, connected to IDE CDRom and a CF
Sound Blaster PCI
Spider USB
PCI Ethernet
Voodoo3

Out of curiosity...with this setup, how would you run your monitor(s)? I'm still fairly new to anything other than my a3000 with built in scandoubler :)

You can scavenge the missing connector from an old pre-ATX pc mobo. Scrapyards and landfills are plenty with those.

Heck, I'm in the other side of the world, but in worst case scenario I'll send you this connector for free!
