Toshiba TC514400Z-80 ZIP RAM

Here we some Toshiba TC514400Z-80 RAM chips plastic 20-pin ZIP package. These are 1MBx4 configuration, so e.g. for 8Mb RAM you need 16 chips, 4Mb RAM = 8 chips etc. They are compatible with most Amiga gear and expansions like A3000(T), Oktagon controlers, AlfaRAM and AlfaPower, Apollo 502, CDTV, SupraRAM etc.

These are NOS, tested and fully functional chips.

EUR 11.49 = 4 chips (2Mb)
EUR 20.99 = 8 chips (4Mb)
EUR 40.99 = 16 chips (8Mb)

Forgive me for being ignorant here (if i'm wrong) but the more chips one buys, the slightly more expensive it is by a few pennies. Is that intended?

How bad is postage to Brazil? I know the difference in quantity will not affect the posting price.

In any case, 24 chips is all I need. My A3k have only 4Mb. So the final price must be cheaper than a SIMM adaptor to justify my expense.

Postage to Brazil is 20p extra !! :o Signed for is the same as EU £9.75. For 24 pcs I can make an exception for you rkauer I think there is plenty for others.

Chips arrived safely, tested working great on my Oktagon board (mind and set jumpers and the correct orientation for installing pin 1) :D

Ahoy Pedro, yes these are tested with A3000D and will work perfectly. The maximum you can add to your A3000D system is 16MB (32 ZIP chips).

Hm.. The order limit is set to discourage some buying up a whole bunch of these in hope of re-selling etc. since I've set a competitive price. Basically I'm trying to ensure that all the community have a chance to buy some for their own use, since it's quite troublesome to find these chips.

I received the RAM and installed it yesterday. - works great, my A3000 is finally up to its full 16MB!
The installation wasn't fun though - anybody knows of a way of pulling the RAM chips from a mobo without messing all the pins??? I bent some on each and every one of the chips and almost broke one (I think I actually did, but luckily it works).
First of all I found out that my original 8MB is static column while the new is fast page - I realized these won't work together after plugging in all the new chips... still 8MB, nice...
Then I found on A.org that they can actually coexist, but fast page needs to be placed in the primary RAM bank (thanks so much, tone007!).
So I plug them back, 4MB after 4MB, testing at each step before continuing, straightening the pins along the way (some of them were badly messed up... by me...) and when I finally finished at 1:30AM everything worked! Saying I was happy would be an understatement.
This, to me, embodies so much of the Amiga hobby - it takes time and a lot of sweat, but it's actually fun, you're learning along the way and when you finally get there and everything works it's such a good feeling!

Of course, this doesn't change the fact that ZIP RAM is a b*tch...

Sorry for this slightly off topic and long post. The important thing - Jozsi is an honest and reliable Amibayer and his merchandise is flawless! Once again thanks for the transaction, Jozsi.
