Hey guys, the CD that I have for the Spider USB / mediator drivers for poseidon is too small for my cd-rom. Actually, I can't get my cd-rom (IDE) to work with my CF :blink: and was going to use my laptop to just install the drivers...but the CD won't fit into the internal laptop drive. It's too small!
Is it wrong of me to ask on here if anyone can just send me the drivers? I'll gladly take pics of the cd that I have to prove that I own a license for it..

if you register your card with ELBOX they'll send you the latest spider drivers...
Maybe Elbox will be able to send them to you? In .lha form for example.

This has links to the Mediator Update CD in an .lha. The spider.device is located in CD0:Devs/USBHardware
So, if anyone else has this issue (doubtful!) this is an easy fix.

Hmm...I have the spider.device in Devs:USBHardware. When I try to use poseidon to load the driver for any of the devices (pciinfo says device 2,3,4) it won't load...grrr!!!!
Also, if anyone can tell me why, my fastata mkv is in a zorro slot, it boots the cf card just fine, but i can't use fastata.device or the fastata prefs. It can't find the controller board...?! The mediator jumpers are currently:
Master closed
Winsize open
Swapconfig open
I have the following cards: Voodoo3, SpiderUSB, Soundblaster, FastEthernet (config'd and works), TV Card (untested), CV643D/Scandoubler (using this for vga since i haven't configured the Voodoo3), and in another zorro slot is the fastata. Help! :)
Trying to get elbox to help so far hasn't produced anything...anyone have any ideas?
The cv643d and scandoubler work fine.
The voodoo3 seems to be working fine.
The fast ethernet works fine.
The tv card - untested
the soundblaster - untested
The spider II usb - doesn't work. at all. but shows up in pciinfo...?
The fastata mkv with cf 4gb card - well, the card boots, but I can't use it with a cdrom (it shows the insert disk screen if i do) and the fastata.device doesn't work. It says it can't find the controller. Yet, the drive boots fine...? Any ideas?? Please help! :)
Are you using the correct drivers for your FastATA, if its the Zorro version you need:

Try connecting your IDE CDROM to the secondary IDE channel on the FastATA and set it as 'master' you CF should also be 'master' and leave that as primary.
The FastATA installer is what you use to configure your CDROM and PIO Speeds (start at PIO3 for the CF card as it might not work PIO4/5) you must run the installer on the target machine, not on WinUAE.
Until you are running the FastATA drivers I'm pretty sure it acts just like scsi.device.
Sadly I can't help with the USB as I've never setup a Spider before.

could also be that the CD drive doesn't report ready when required, thus hangs the IDE bus.. I've had these problems too
I don't remember how I fixed this.
btw.. don't leave a CD in the drive when booting up, this will definately make sure the CD isn't ready when the amiga needs it to be.
