Hi, just got the dusty old Amiga 1200 out of storage and want to play with the real thing after using emulation for the last few years.
Nothing fancy, just a bit of RAM for whdload games. Just the board without RAM will be ok as the dimms are quite easy to get hold of, but 8mb would be fine.

Just to let you know I added the 'Wanted' prefix to your thread :)
Good luck with the search, I'm sure you know and it was a typo but most Ram expansions take 72pin Simms and not Dimms.

The board it self, contains 1 meg of ram, and can be upgraded to 9 in total.
I do not have any ekstra ram for the board, but it is new and unused! Only tested working, thats all.
*sorry but don't know how to scale images smaller...

WOW! That is probably the ultimate RAM expansion for the A1200. It's the only one that supports 9MB FastRAM where others will only do 4-8MB, and it's PCMCIA-friendly and can take a 50Mhz FPU! It's like a dream card, and it's practically brand new!
If you can find a 8MB RAM stick for it, I'd say go for this one for sure!

p.s. As for the PCMCIA friendly, it seems more and more people are saying Kick 3.0 is PCMCIA friendly with RAM, where 3.1 has the problem??
Yes. That particular card takes the uncommon (and really difficult to fit) ZIP DRAMs. It has 1MB soldered to the card, which is mapped into the Ranger (A500 slow-fast RAM area) and any ZIP RAMs you add are put into the 8MB Zorro II address range.
I think there might be a couple of other cards out there that give 9MB FastRAM, but they're not too common.
Be aware that if you put the full 8MB on the card, it'll conflict with the PCMCIA port. (This is true of any 8MB RAM-only expansion for the A1200)

I think its because KS3.1 handles the Ram differently to KS3.0, he will still have issues if he tried to fill the ram up beyond 4mb :coffee:Quote:
