I see so many PS2 and Xbox games, I bet one day a few years down the line they will be all gone and prices will have shot up

I know the feeling :help:
I used to pick up plenty of retro gear at the big car boot in Southampton but sadly there's a lot of collectors there and older stuff is hard to find now.
Plenty of PS2's, Xbox 1's and Xbox 360's though.
Last Amiga related thing i got there was a 520 modulator for a fifth of a beer token...bargain!
yea she drives and i have only a honda cg125 cant carry that muchQuote:

You could get her to carry what doesnt fit in your car home? :D
If she says no, tell her its lack of dedication to the relationship :p
(Im going to get whacked for that when I see the mrs now  )
I saw a megadrive 2 for the approximate price of 20 cigaretts "i think, maybe cigaretts are more expensive now", but my wife had already gone mad with my money and bought. a rocking baby bed thing and a whole bunch of other baby clothes, my teenage daughter wanted a big fuzzy bear, so she got that along with some doughnuts i tried my best but by then i was burdend with women junk so i epic failed. :(
having said that there was nothing els to be seen and i went to two diferent ones.
Must go earlier next time!
(and leave the women at home)
i never got anything either there was a few ps1s and xbox1s also a c64 but wanted too much for them and i already have a few also the misses got sum stuff too

Better luck next time John
Bought a 22'' LCD monitor for the price of around 4 packs of cigarettes.:lol:
Took it home, plug it in and it works.
ok its all grey and horrible But im going any way!
Maybe the thought of rain will make people sell electronics cheaper?
Wish me luck!
I doubt they would sell it cheaper! LOL! I havent been this morning, but I think next week the mrs actually wants me to assist in selling at one
PS3 60GB faulty ...
3 xboxes and a whole host of baby stuff "again" i also saw 2-3 megadrives and a snes but by then i had prety much spent my limit.
A single N64 cart (Carmeggedon64) and a 128 games in one TV Games system.
Not very exciting, but it does have a load of my favorites on there, and works OK. That and it was only 50p. Meh.
Car boots around here tend to be utterly rubbish, anything remotely interesting looks like it's been left in a carrier bag at the bottom of the garden for almost all it's lifetime.
Nothing ... it was p**ing it down with rain so ripped out the bathroom and began to remodel it :D
Its prety much the same here, most of the stuff i buy need stripping down to main components cleaning properly then reassembeling.
so far today since i been back i have only striped and cleaned 1 xbox also replaced the heatsinks and thermal paste. had to refurbish the dvd drive (new tray belt) and lubricate the rails.
Takes a whole load of time to get that pink gloopy gunk for thermal paste they used on the gpu's off but these things are pretty old. but they were built really well. so a bit of tlc like this before i modify them is well advized.
it was a clear xbox though so it takes a while to clean its inner grounding plates or it looks bad thru the case.
Having a bit of a break right now so just browsing the forum for a while :)
My wife picked up a biscuit jar.............

nope i give up , too hard to find out lol
I got a Gameboy Pocket at the weekend :)
Nice, I like those. I got an external SCSI CDROM enclosure, with twin CDs.
Got to fire it up yet though.
Weve just had 2 networks go down at work when I was typing that post
I never thought to look for SCSI CDROMs at a boot sale, goin to have a look out next time :)
I also got 2 small packets full of SIMMs (4 meg and 16 meg ones I think) and also a Gamecube game and PSUs (not often I see PSUs but I grabbed em! )
I went to two Car Boot sales this morning, amoungst all the old PS1's and XBoxes not much out there worth buying, but at the end of the day I spotted a nice shiny PS2 Slim in Silver, oh and picked up a few Game Boy Colour games from the same seller :)

Very chuffed today, usually I don't find a great deal at most Car boot sales these days. However, this morning my cup runneth over!
1xC64 breadbox
1 A600 with WB2.05, 1Mb 601 expansion and Hard drive
Zipstick
SWOS, boxed
1 Playstation Skream Twin arcade stick
Starcraft CDrom with Broodwar expansion.
All tested and working fine, so I'm pretty pleased. On top of that, the whole lot only came to <snip> about a dinner and a pint at the local <snip> :)
[edit]
Hehehehehehe.... sausage! Z
Frik! :D
Nice one Phil - no such awesomeness at the Boot Sales here, no proper retr0 stuff at all :(
Now thats a nice haul there buddy!
I am lovin' that set of sticks and buttons!
we have plenty of BIG screens if ya wanna make Mame Cab ;)
very nice steve and phil love them sticks
I did not get to go today :( Was up till like 6am watching the rugby "great game btw"
And you guys seem to have much better carboot sales compared to what we have
I dont go cuz i dont have a car and my m8's are too lazy to get up and go to one in the mornings. The charity shops here are too posh for anything computer like in them too and believe me i think my town has cornered off the market in charity shops.
I went this time and got a few things. Destruction Derby 2, Nuclear Strike, Simpson's Wrestling, boxed official mouse all for the PS1. Simpson's Hit n Run for the PS2. 4x TDK DVD RW's sealed and 2 new SA90 cassettes for my Dad. :)
That's as much as I remember...
Destruction Derby 2 and Tekken are the reasons I got a PS1 and not an N64 way back when. DD2 was awesome. With that Abes Oddysee, Red alert, and Gran Turismo and later FF7 8 and 9, most of my teen years ebbed away lol.

Does anyone ever sell a car boot at these things?
