I once more started a project and once more is an A4000!
Sadly the last one was sold some years ago so since I regretted it, I thought of building one from scratch...
Since I'm maintaining a blog for some time now, all the updates will be done there and I'll be hot-linking the threads here with description.
It's not something important but my journey into making the A4000 as I'd want her to be :)
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do :thumbsup:

You're right. The 26db fan was what we had spare at that size. Once I finish the project logically I'll put a more silent one that has good CFM though.

Btw...
I saw on E3B's website (http://www.e3b.de/usb/main_mounting_e.html) that:
For stable operation an additional grounding cable has to be attached between DENEB and Delfina
I can easily get the GND signal from the ISA connector (pin B31) since I can use it :)
I can also get extra +5V from ISA connector as well (pin B29).
Should I get these extra signals for better stability (I remember Phipscube on his epic A1200D PPC mod used an extra +5V in his Delfina.
Atm it works awesomely well, but I'd better go by the book on the GND. I just thought if it would be better to also get an extra juice since I'm gonna do the mod.

Aha! If it's working on you... then it would work on me too and only a re-install of the HD was needed!

I found my Acard's don't love new IDE HDD's drives from Samsung and Western Digital. But works great with Seagate (Barracuda models) ones... Just tested with drives from 40 to 200GB. Now I'm using "new" ones of 80GB each.
About DVD-RW units, it works fine with Asus and LG drives (The ones I have).
With CF cards I don't have problems, a simple IDE to CF adapter and works...... The only ones don't want to work (r/w errors or unrecognized type) are Kingston CF's

My HD is an 2.5 80GB as well (I think WD though). Now it works just fine but I guess the change of U to UW needed some reinstalling and new RDB + partitioning to be safe.
Since then... it's working just fine.
For DVD-RW I don't need an ACard since I use the internal IDE header (plus I can't afford another ACard tbh lol).
For CF Cards I use the Multicard SCSI Reader so I'm just fine.

The only drawback is that the embedded ring LED is only 1 color :)
If it was dual, I would have mounted the RTG (second ON state) to the other LED which would have been really cool. Putting an extra small circuit for LED to bling in state 2 is really easy... but would be really KITSCH :P
(I might destroy one extra push-on switch that I got extra in case I can replace the onboard LED with one dual of my own but still don't care that much).
