Ok so i got my hands on a nother clear xbox. "not 360" i stripped it down put new thermal paste on there and am advertizing it for sale.
its a 1.6 so its softmoded. (keep reading i provide a non softmoded option) it can come with 160gb hard disk fully loaded (on request) "will take me quite a while to load her up so ask in advance"
comes with av power and 3rd party controller. asking for £66 shipped.

unleash x is my default dash, but xbmc is installed as an app, and if requested can become the main dash. (although i dont advize that because of xbmc updates and possiblilty of corrupted updates)
i can swap out the internas for a tsoped 1.0 or 1.5 and drop the hard disk down to 40gb asking for £56 shipped then (havent tsoped the suckers yet so could end up horribly wrong and take me a while to rectify so dont ask for that if you want it fast)

il explain the diference between the 2 setups..
the softmoded xbox will be locked to the hard disk provided so upgrading the hard disk will need some knowlage and atleast a disk (also a pc with 1 ide port and a ide cd drive) All details of how to do it will be provided if requested, and il ship the disk to do the buisiness with it. If you go this route you also have a 160gb hard disk to unlock with the provided disk "again tutorial provided if needed" if and when you chose to upgrade the hard disk..
You cant take the dvd player out of this xbox or it wont boot.
the 1.6 does not have any spots to add more ram. (this is both a v1.6 limit and a softmod limit)
Apart from that it does everything a hard modified xbox will do.
The tsop xbox is not locked to any hard disk, and you can simply put in any IDE hard disk you want. and boot up with the provided utility disk and your back in buisiness. the hard disk wont need to be unlocked to use on a pc or similar. You can remove the dvd player from the xbox and it will still boot.
you can also upgrade the ram "If you have the soldering ability" the 1.0 and 1.5 boards have the extra spaces. (although the use of upgraded ram is Miniimal at best, so probably not worth the effort honestly)
v 1.0 vs v 1.5 vs 1.6 boards. In general the 1.0 and 1.5 are prety similar, the main diference you will notice is that the 1.0 has a fan on the gpu heat sink. and the 1.5 does not, the 1.5 also has a diferent lpc header so bear that in mind if you wanted a 3rd part mod chip (although the tsop mod would mean that you dont need one) There are a few v1.6 boards but this one is a better one with the faster samsung ram the main diferences between all other boards and the 1.6 are apparant if you know what to look for, the 1.6 does not have a tsop chip for me to flash. and it dosent have any spaces for ram to be added to it. It is however the later revisioon of the board so is generaly cooler. and as it uses the samsung ram stable.
the price of the 40gb clear crystal is the same the price as a 160gb tsoped classic black, i should have atleast 1 of those to sell in the near future, possibly 2. depends on this sale what size hard disk the second will have and if its tsop'd or not. so if the crystal is not what you want (dosent bother you) and you would rather get a 160gb tsoped black console. just hang around :)
in all honesty i use a 160gb hard drive on my personal xboxes and find it more than enough space and my main xbox is softmoded. so dont be put off by that
