Yamaha IDE->SCSI converter (New old stock) [10 more units available]
Came across these in France the other day. Such converters are increasingly rare, so I thought you guys might be interested...
Purpose
To use IDE devices on SCSI equipped amiga computers and other retro equipment.
Example 1: If your a1200 has SCSI-2 you can increase HDD or CF transfer speed 3-4x and reduce cpu usage compared to using the internal IDE
Example 2: You can connect cheap IDE harddrives or CDROM's to a3000 or SCSI a2000
Info
- New old stock
- 40p IDE to 50p SCSI (Narrow SCSI)
- Model Yamaha V769970
- Launched in 2002 at €49 recommended European retail price for use with Yamaha IDE burners
- Also came with Yamaha's internal SCSI CD burners CRW2200/3200/F1
- Similar to the ACARD AEC-7720U (But Ultra SCSI is not guaranteed, yet)
- Includes molex power cable splitter
- Manual (sort of) here.
Speed
Speed on Fast SCSI-2 up to 10mb/s
I have not yet been able to test these with Ultra SCSI myself to see if they support 20mb/s (For Cyberstorm MK3/PPC)
One ebay seller told me he had close to 20mb/s using these on several PC's
For an overview of common amiga transfer speeds (and other interface speeds) see the last image attachment.
Compatibility
These are popular for use on Atari, SGI and other retro equipment, and I have read reports of people using CD-ROM's DVD-ROM's, CF-cards and harddrives on them with success.
However, all equipment will probably not work, and I do not make any guarantees on compatibility.

€25 (Initial 20 units) + shipping + any paypal fees
Initially max 3 per person
Shipping, Europe
1 unit €2
2-3 units €3

Non-standard purchase process
As the number of units is high, I don't want 6 posts and pm's for each unit.
- Post interest and send PM with address.
- I will reply with payment info (I will not post 'pm received, pm sent' every time)
- Send money to my paypal, no need to PM or post again.
- I will update this post with sold units, received payments, and shipments.
And finally, I will not run to the post office 20 times, so expect some shipping delays as I wait until I have a few orders together.

Update
I'm truly amazed at the response - 20 units gone in 7h 24m, and more than 10 more in line's within the next 2h 30m.
That must be some kind of record :)
Now, for those that were too late, I have some good news and some bad news.
Good news I have 20 more units that I was planning on offering on a couple of other sites.
But due to the ridiculous interest here I have decided to offer 10 more units for amibay members.
Bad news The remaining cards go for €40.
(Please consider the first 20 as discounted, not the other way around)
The remaining sales will be limited to one per person.
1 unit is reserved for each of the following gentlemen if they are still interested
