Success! Some CF cards don't work, some do... Samsung rebranded 1GB works. Transcend 2GB doesn't. Sandisk 256mb doesn't!
I'm using parity on, termination on and 512 block size... although from a quick test, block size appears to be ignored.
The adapter arrived today, many thanks.

@chiark Just got mine working too, parity on, termination on, 512 block size and booting from a 4GB SanDisk :thumbsup:
we may need a separate thread for what is and isn't supported :)
