For sale is a quite rare Power Computing Falcon 68040/68060 accelerator for the Amiga 1200. Has buit-in Fast-SCSI-II HDD interface, takes 72-pin 70ns SIMMs for up to 128MB RAM

- 8 MB RAM


This is tested fully functional unit, New Old Stock. Comes with Original box, manual, driver SW, fan+mounting screw.

Correct. I only unpacked it to test and to make the benchmarks.

AFAIK the manual and drivers do not exist anywhere on any hardware site, this is a true rare beast boxed as new. I hope whoever buys one will scan the manual and dump and ADF of the drivers as these are until today lost.

I also think this card can be upgraded to 060 quite easily, but the answer might be in the manual to how this is acheived. If I had the money I would be extreamly tempted.

Wow.. a NOS Macrosystems Falcon 040 :blink:

Back in the days when, we used to be a reseller of MacroSystems and had everything from Maestro to Toccata, from Evolution I/II to the Draco.. but we NEVER had the Falcon.. guess that was towards the end and not many were made to my knowledge.. I guess that is a nice card to have.. am very tempted myself :roll:

I just got this card in an A1200 I picked up. FYI any potential buyers you most likely will need a beefier PSU then the stock a1200's. I am currently shopping for one now as I believe some hangs and crashes are because of lack of enough juice.


Seller or buyer of this one, I BEG you to scan the manual. Pretty Please!! Could you just post the jumper info and what 060 upgrade info it provides at the very least?

Just a word of advice guys, if you're planning to upgrade this to 68060 you will need serious hardware knowledge as the manual is more than cryptic about how to set it up for 060. So you'll need to experiment - on the other hand, if you make it then you'll have a serious 68060 card that has built in SCSI for much less than a Blizzard 1260

I have updated what I know for the falcon 1240 I have a manual to upload that my friend tbtorro sent me a PDF way back when it seems now, alas the neither Alex from amiga.resource.cx nor, the chappy at amiga-hardware.org got back to me about uploading the manual =(

The manual I have is for the 040 version of this card, the manual does make note that for the 060 varient a suppliment manual is provided.

From the manual (that is quite cryptic) I have deduced thus far that


HD1 is for the 3.3v Regulator
This could be buzzed out, but you are still looking at a custom made unit, one could be made on vero / hobbyist PCB board cheap enough

HD2 040/060 & Memory State?
This header is for configuring the firmware to run in 060 mode and or, syncronizing / asyncing the memory bus - this needs to be buzzed out and analyzed - for the wont of infinite time.... irony would have it that I would be infinitely busy LOL.


This is assuming that there are no CPLD IC's to upgrade, while I do not beleive this to be the case, I cannot rule this out 100%


Lastly one would need an 060 of course.
