I thought that I would just chip in and say that Jap N64's can play US N64 games once you remove the cartridge slot security plastic tabs.

Also the NTSC N64's unlike the PAL units can be quickly modded to RGB (and use a standard SNES RGB SCART cable) to give the ultimate N64 picture.

N64 PSU's are interchangeable so you can use a PAL N64 power supply and avoid needing a step-down voltage converter.
Add in an EverDrive64 and you've got the best N64 possible

Thanks for the additional info, they are pretty neat machines, I still think that Pilotwings 64 is one of the greatest games ever made. Do the UK N64`s not have a standard SNES AV cable port? I never owned a UK one before.
They all have the SNES AV port. But N64's of all types (unmodified) cannot output RGB.
NTSC ones can be rescued with the above mod.
PAL units are doomed to Composite or SVideo forever :(
That`s really interesting, I did not know that, I remember on my first N64 that I had from Japan I cut the tabs to allow for American games which was pretty nice, like the America SNES you can cut the tabs to play SFC games.
This is a long shot - are you able to join this up with a 64DD unit and possibly a game? Not sure how common or easy they are to find over in Japan but a combined unit would be of interest to me.
If not never mind - worth asking
How much is P&P for just the N64 and games to UK with EMS
Hi, I will have a look but they are quite rare and expensive here sadly, but I will keep an eye out for one.
Shipping to the UK:
EMS £39.00
SAL £32.00
Surface £22.00
The total weight it 1.9 kg.
Thanks for getting back with the info - I am interested but will have to wait to my next pay cycle in October so please let others come in.
If there is ever a 64dd knocking about then I am certainly interested to learn more about it! I know they are probably rare given they were mail order?
Just to keep things tidy, I have expressed interest and agreed a deal with ami_junki and now made payment....
