Configurable (upto 8MB) Ram Upgrade for the A600

Hello there my fellow AmiBayers

I am pleased to announce that after much discussion between Acidrain and LDV we have agreed prices so I am very pleased to say, that with both their help the units will cost £30. To let you all know these are the NEW units that are configurable for 4mb / 5.5mb and 8mb of ram.

With the exception of the first 10 units, the rest will be built / programmed by myself and TheCorfiot, most likely in batches of 20 or so to begin with.

The first 10 that are for sale are built by LDV will be up for grabs as 1 per customer for the princely sum of £30.

please state interest in this thread first as the initial first 10 units will be sold as a first come first served basis, with one unit per person the rest will be a pre-order of £15 per unit with a final £15 to pay on completion and postage.

for any concerns or queries you can contact me or TheCorfiot by PM here.

We we try to keep costs as LOW as possible as such we may be able to reduce the cost and pass this along to the customer! via lesser postage etc if we can!

Yes it will be fully populated with 8MB of Fast RAM

I have already expressed interest in the respective thread in EAB but i suppose here will be the final stage. I would also fancy buying an upgrade board for m A600. Please state method of payment and all the boring stuff that comes wit it. Congrats to everybody that has worked for making this board reach the final production.

for those of you that missed out on the first 10, I have updated the thread here on eab with pre-order information :)

I really am sorry for those that missed out, and as much as I would love to hold places for everyone I am not sure if you will agree to the pre-order conditions so I have to ask on a first come first served basis.

I can understand that you may feel left out and I am truely sorry but if you miss the 20 pre-order there will be a much larger pre-order after that. please be patient, it will be rewarded :)

on a second thought I am also interested in one more unbuilt unit as a kit (if such a thing is possible) it will be nice to test up my soldering skills :)

Not Sure if this will be possible due to the CPLD programming and the licenced firmware.
The process we have put together is to program the CPLD after it has been fitted to the PCB.
I'll discuss this with Zetr0 & get back to you.

we can send you a kit with the CPLD pre-programed and soldered on the board my friend, the rest (caps / connectors & memory) you can solder yourself if you wish my friend,

My deepest apollogies Phillip, completely my mistake,

As I dont know where a (pre-order) payment for an item would sit on AmiBay, I moved the thread over to eab.abime.net, its been a little crazy and I completley missed your shout over here.

We will have a master build left over (ordering 25 units 24 claimed) so you can have the master unit when TheCorfiot is done with it. would that be okay? it may take a week longer than the rest.

Once the money is collected for this existing pre-order I will start another one.. however with a lot more units, as this order is a test for the fabrication of the pcb and components, the last thing we want to ship is a defunct unit, that would suck!

please let me know your thoughts.

Hello fellow forum chummies,

As you may all know the first batch has been sold completely, there will be another batch soon after this one is off the ground so I will start another pre-order at that time, probably in about 4 weeks, so I must beg peoples patience.

Once again both TheCorfiot and I would like to thank everyone whom has invested there time and money into this project.
