Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
The Surf Squirrel can be used in a Tower if it has the 90 Degree PCMCIA adapter! :wink:
I need an adapter! :|

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
Hey Kin, yeah i probably should update the thread to add that bit. a 90 degree adaptor is required to use the pcmcia port within a tower.
I've also added a couple more items.
Thanks

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
@Mike: hello my friend!!
Im interested in 3 replacement battery kits.
However, and since i suck with soldering iron, i dare to ask you, how difficult/easy it is for a noobie like me to solder that replacement battery in either my A3000 or A4000? How and where to solder the diode? Do you have any instructions so i can do that by myself? If so, count me in please!!!
Cheers

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
@kin
Thanks mate
@gavilan
As long as you've got all the necessary equipment and patience it's not too bad. I've yet to fit the coin type but I've replaced the battery in my 3000 with another nicad one. Biggest problem I had was getting enough heat in to get the legs out, which had been cut flush to the motherboard, without damaging any tracks.

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
@rkauer, JACK98, PowerPie5000, Gavilan.
Please accept my apologies in the delay of reply's.
My daughter's not been very well for a few days but she's well on the way to recovery again now.
I promise to sort shipping quotes and other requests today.
Currently i have:
rkauer 1st in line for the squirrel.
JACK98 1st in line for the Goliath with Powerpie5000 2nd in line should Jack pull out.
@Gavilan, the batteries were very easy to install and as SJBUK said the hardest part was removing the legs of original battery.
Thanks guys
Mike

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
ok pm sent about goliath...
-
Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
@rkauer, postage to brazil for the squirrel will be £9.75 by airmail or £5.20 by surface mail.
@JACK98 unfortunately postage of the goliath to Republic or Ireland is a lot more expensive than i imagined.
Postage via Royal Mail signed for service will be £23.50 or by parcel2go.com will be £24.
I leave it up to you whether you wish to continue or pull out.
Thanks Guys

Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
Hello,
Any battery replacement kits left please - these suitable for accelerator cards Apollo / Blizzard?
Cheers.
-
Re: FS: A Few Smaller Items
Hi Jaymz, i have 4 battery kits left. However i have only used these to replace the barrel battery's on motherboards.
Therefore as i'm not that electrically minded i cannot tell you whether they will be suitable for accelerator cards.
However i'm sure one of our very knowledgable experts (TC, Zetr0 or anyone else, a little help) can offer some advice.

Cheers.
If you are unsure as to whether your card has a recharge circuit or not then simply just add the diode anyway to protect the battery.
The diode must be placed in circuit between the battery "+" & the "+" connection on the board, The diode's cathode (identified by a band around the body) connecting to the battery
Apollo 1240 - Defnitely needs the diode as it is usually fitted with rechargeable cells.
If you need further help, let me know
