AFAIR it has got to be a SCSI drive.
I believe there is a hack to use a parallel drive on the Miggy but I'm not sure.

Yes but the cable needs hacking to use it on the miggy , scsi is better I think

You can use a parallel ZIP drive on the Amiga, but believe me: the grass growing is faster than formatting/reading/writing to a parallel ZIP drive.
I think I'll go with the scsi option :-)

I have a SCSI Zip drive sitting at home with several boxes of brand new Zip disks. (I think it's SCSI - I need to confirm this).
