R0Jaws BBC Master - It's alive!
Hi folks,
I'm passing over a BBC Master system to our good friend R0Jaws at R3play this year but wanted to get it working first!
Thanks to TheCorfiot - it is working! Yay!
1st off I had to replace the battery pack; so as per recommedation from TC, I got a battery holder from Maplin and installed it. I managed to salvage the Diode and Resistor from the original battery pack.
Found that I could slot the new battery pack neatly under the keyboard :)
Now it was time for getting the settings configured because the machine was coming up with "Acorn MOS - not a language".
Again from TC's guidance I input the lines I had to and then - still wouldn't work lol
Still getting the same message.
I called on TC again who asked for a screen shot of the ROM's which all had a status of "unplugged". TC knew what to do from there and gave me more settings to input. Once this was done - Viola! A working BBC Master!
I hooked up the Floppy drive; found a blank floppy and formatted and verified it so I know that the floppy drive is working too!
Yay! A nice working computer with machine powered Floppy Drive and CUB monitor will be happily traveling to R3play :) Remember and leave enough space in your vehicle to take it all home Phil!
Thanks a lot TC - it would have remained an unusable BBC Master if you hadn't been the all helping guru that you are
Cheers
John
