My 64 bit 64 :-D

Well, here's my contribution to photo booth... I have built an pc inside a commodore 64 case twice - first one a little bit before CUSA did it ;-) These pictures are from my second one which have been running constantly for half a year now...

Specs are:

- Asus AT3IONT-I nVidia ION Mini ITX motherboard
- Pico-PSU
- 4 Gb RAM
- 360 Gb HD + 2 Tb USB-HD
- 150 Mbps wlan
- Bluetooth
- Anysee E30 Plus DVB-C for recording Emmerdale from TV :p
- Win 7 64bit
- Keyrah -keyboard adapter (UK version, åäö doesn't work properly)
- Wireless KB & mouse in the table of livingroom
- Fake joystick ports... :oops: (maybe I'll do something on these someday...)

First picture is just a proof of concept: it's running, time to attach everything in place... Spray painted as black, because I tried Retr0bright on a VERY yellowed case and practically destroyed the colour with too much h2o2... The motherboard sticks a little bit outside from the case because I had some trouble to get the huge cooler inside the case. (I dremeled a LOT away from the bottom of the keyboard but still it's very tight.) The power cord extension is there because the PicoPSU is too high for the case also...

Now it's attached to my 40" Bravia with HDMI. Even my girlfriend lets me keep that thing in our livingroom... :whistle:

it's using a keyrah, so perfectly:)

Well, it does work, but the Keyrah is UK, so I have a little trouble to get finnish special characters to work. I made the usb cable for it from an old pc, that's why it's so odd :-D

I have never seen a scandinavian keyboard on a c64 before. my c64 and the one I grew up using didn't have. not that yours have the norwegian/danish chars either but.

Brilliant, I never finished that project, though I have a nice experience to share, if you cut a bit of the plastic where the keyboard attaches, the keyboard sticks more out of the case and you have more space to fit.

These breadbin 64:s were produced in these fin/swe -keyboard layout and inside real c64 motherboard there are kernal and character chips changed to produce these changed letters. I have two of these (well, actually only one after this mod :-P ), and both of them shows black-screen-of-death... I have never seen c64c or c64g with these characters.

Maybe I have to mod a Spectrum, or should I buy an HTPC case and install Ubuntu in it...? Naah.... Too simple :-D

Thanks for the keyboard tip, I never thought about it! I don't know if I like the looks of the keyboard but I have to consider about that...

It all depends what you like, If I have time I post a picture later, then it looks even more retro, I like ubuntu a lot as well I have winblows 7 for some games and software, but are surprised for mid specced computers how well ubuntu performs. I had two or three attemps all unfinushed before realising the keyboard can be rased :Doh:

I tried Ubuntu but now I'm stuck with Win7 for a while... It does play full-HD video well, that's only what I'm asking ;-) Please do post a picture of your raised keyboard someday, I can then decide wether to open this baby again or not... :-D (No hurry though, my a600 project is taking all my spare time at the moment)
